Can you tell what I'm doing here?

So I've been working with my younger self in coming up with this illustration. It's based on what I used to call Strawberries when I was a little guy:


This is still in progress. I have to fill out the rattle and then do some highlights and shading still.

I was also thinking of turning this type of basket into a crib. Not sure how to make it work with this illo though...

What do you think?

In a recent video about threadless' photography department I noticed the huge amount of release liners that hit the floor during a day of filling orders:



So I wanted to make hair out of that stuff. From there I got this rough idea:



So I'm posting this here to see if it has been done before. I have been voting a lot lately, so I want to make sure I'm not subconsciously knocking anyone else off. I know that the hipster glasses have been done to death, but I'm kinda digging this combination of Addams Family and the original Beiber haircut (RIP). I'm putting the cart before the horse here, but as far as having the threadless staff execute my character costume, it seems like they have plenty of materials.

If this is looking like a relatively fresh idea I will move on to polishing this up for submission!

I am thinking of an all over printed grid, and as it gets closer to the torso area it starts to break up until it reaches the point of impact, where the pixel blocks go flying all over. An option would be to make the front pixel blocks collapse in, and on the back have them explode out.

I would use glow in the dark subtly in the thinner gridlines and then it would become more concentrated and brighter as it gets closer to the impact point.

I'm thinking that it relates to the new movie and how characters "derez", but also would look great as just a nice all over pattern for any non-fan to wear.
