I just did a picture step by step to bleaching a design onto a shirt, but everytime I attempt to post pictures it doesn't seem to work, let's see what happens.

I cut my jeans up once, around 4 inches from the bottom, and then sand papered the edge. It looked terrible though. You need to muck around on really old jeans first if your going to experiment.

I cut up men's t shirts and sew them to get a better fit, especially since the sleeves are usually too long, and the collar is weird.

For jeans I've used an electric sander to fray edges and pockets, and I wash them (even if they're clean) with all of my loads to get a nice, natural fade. I put them in the wash every time I do the laundry, and it comes out looking really vintage towards the end. Sandpaper doesn't really work unless you put a lot of elbow grease into it.

My friend also does stencils... like butterfly and flower imprints with bleach, but that process is time consuming and you need to be really careful. It's not really my style, so I don't bother with it.

I often do stuff to my jeans. Only gap & old navy ones though... I never do anything to my expensive pairs. I usually do stuff like add really heavy contrast stitching in spots with a heave needle. Sometimes I'll add a little bit of embroidery to them, birds & flowers & what not on the back pockets. I've also altered a few t-shirts but you really need a serger for that. Well.. at least if you want them to stretch.

Anyways... thats about it. In the meantime stop typing like that. It makes my eyes bleed.

When i wear jeans to work I mod them to hell. I get fades/ tints/ small little rips and tear marks where my keys go (pockets r deep in some an look badass)

And then theres alwasy yellow belt- a conveyor belt gonig straight out so if you lean/sit against it itll do a pro fade job on them.
