oh damn it.. this kitty who seems based on her appearance seems to be getting fed by someone..has started hanging around our house all day..and sleeping in our garage... she use to hiss at me..but now she has started jumping up in my lap and following me about.

I'm honestly not sure if she belongs to someone or if someone is feeding her (intentionally or unintentionally by leaving food out for other pets)??

I'm also not sure if my somewhat acient blind cat could / would deal well with another cat ...hmmm

cats are funny they sometimes will totally choose people rather than the otherway about however.

i have two street cats and i love them.
my first cat had a collar but he was at my door so often in a 3 week period that i finally just took him in.
my second cat was living at buffalo wild wings eating blazing hot wing scraps from consumers coming and going before i finally decided to take her in.
she pooped acid wing sauce for like two weeks, i had to evacuate my apartment multiple times the first two weeks she moved in...lol...it was awful!

You stole a cat?

Maybe you should take him to the vet and check if he has a chip. My cat is always losing her collar.

Well even cats with collars get lost. You should have a vet check for a microchip like SJ27 mentioned.

well this cat has been around for years... just recently she has started hanging around our house 24/7 .. I think she probably belongs to someone near by... however the question is at this point if she wants to belong to them

cause she is slowly but surely moving in with us... I may need to check if she has a chip to try to sort the situation with her "owners"

but cat's don't seem to think they are owned by anyone...sometimes cats will bail on people and go someplace better... that is part of the reason i like cats they are dicks =p

YES i do, i steal cats...collar or no collar, chip or no chip!
HATE ME, lol!
i've had both my cats for almost 2 years now, so...
i have let my first cat (male) go outside before but he always comes back, so, i guess he loves me!
but i'm glad how concerned ya'll are about whether or not i'm a cat thief, thanks a bunch for that, but come on...i give the cat a good home and he chooses to stay. at least he has a home and wasn't squished by a car!
and for the real, the cat thief thing held precedence over my poor baby female cat who suffered through a blazing hot wing sauce diet for God knows how long and then suffered with acid-like gooey wing sauce shits for weeks before she recovered!?!?!?!?
and both of my cats have been to the vet, chip or no chip, they are taken care of!
@maddingo: hell ya, cats are super smart! and no one owns a cat, they own you, and that's a fact! cats rule even if they are dicks, dicks make the rules...at least that's what that one t-shirt sorta said...

but ya, how do you know that my first cat didn't run away from his evil previous owner, found me, and now he owns me!
i'm the one you should feel sorry for, someone take me to the vet!

I never said you were a cat the if, I was supporting you. Just was pointing out that even cats with collars get lost and homeless. My current baby was found by a rescue lady with a collar huddled in a storm drain during the winter rains. He wasn't chipped and was very friendly so he clearly wasn't mistreated. Unfortunately his owners never were located so she put him up for adoption and he ended up with me.

I'd keep him maddingo if he's clear of microchips and gets along with your older cat. Even if not they'll probably get used to each other with time :)

As a side note I never let him outside because I'm afraid he'd get lost and not be able to come back.

she is a sweet cat... mrs dingo is being sort of iffy as to if she wants to adopt her... i think mrs dingo is very worried about how it would affect our old 15+ years old blind kitty.

i think they would probably get on fine..but mrs dingo has a point our prime obligation is to our older kitty so we would have to proceed carefully if we tried to adopt the little girl cat..

thanks for the support, but ya i was responding more to stubby and SJ, glad you got to keep that poor little kitty. oh, and i don't let my cats out anymore unless i'm outside with them...the first few times when i first got him were trials to see if he'd keep coming back to me, which he did!
cat lovers unite!
even though cat's make their own decisions, lol!

just to be 100% clear

I ain't feed this cat (yet)... nor have i done anything other than be nice to her (as i am to all kitties)

she is the one that has apparently decided to move on over to our house.

I'm going to ask around and see if i can figure out who actually owns her to let them know their cat is hanging out at our house all the god damn time... and see what they want to do.. unless i find out she is just a stray someone has been feeding but not actually adopting then she is MINE..

That’s fair, there seems to be a lot of stupid people, mostly in more rural areas who think they can just adopt a pet if they see it nearby, we have had a dog taken because they thought it was abandoned which involved a 40 mile journey and a £75 kennel fee just to get it back, god knows how my dad figured out where it was taken to. My first cat also disappeared even after searching roads and houses the day it had a bath and it then snuck out collarless.

Meh I am bitter toward these sort of do gooders our pets always found their way back anyhow.

i can see that randy

my old cat was too stuborn to wear a collar (he freak the hell out) or stay inside

he had a chip

but one day i caught some lady in my yard trying to "find" my cat... I assured her ..the cat wasn't lost and that he was mine.

to my cat's credit he wasn't going anywhere he was quite pleased with us and our house..

haha always good to know, I think old ladies get a little too kind, almost forgetting they could just buy their own damn cat, I still miss my poor 'Maggie'
