I know you all are pretty smart cookies and always helpful, so here's my problem: I'm applying for a government job for the first time and I'm finding that there are a lot of hoops to jump through. Not the usual send in the resume and portfolio samples, I actually have to answer essay questions! Here's the one I need help with:
--Knowledge of typesetting methods, pre-press production, printing, and print-related procedures (SELECTIVE FACTOR) Does it seem like they want me to go through ALL methods of typesetting, like woodblock, metal type, linotype, etc. etc.? Because I was just going to say how Quark is the best at setting large amounts of type for various reasons, and then answer the rest of the question. Help! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- update! Jan 24 11:55 pm EST: I finished it! And now it's at the proofreader! Anyone want to read it? (No? Well it might be useful if you have insomnia and need something to put you out.)
