Because PayPal is the only company in the world that has a policy of assuming everyone using it is a thief.

Plus they have fees charged per transaction I think. Isn't it like 3%? That's huge to a company that's making millions.

Well, blog necrophilia or not: it's true that I would've bought quite a number of shirts already if they'd offered PayPal...

I'd be happy to pay 3% extra :-)

Yup, I'm for using PP as well - would greatly simplify overseas orders for me.

Paypal is used regulary by scammers because of its chargeback feature..

CC is fine.

sj did you ever hear of that aussie prepaid cc company bopo? god it was awesome. i wish the company didnt fold!
squatterjohn
squatterjohn on Dec 01 '08 at 8:38am
Yeah I heard of that. They used to advertise late at night. The guy doing the ad had a ponytail and his t-shirt tucked into his jeans ... he didn't look trustworthy. But it seemed like a good idea. I really need to get a prepaid or debit Visa instead of this revolving credit crap.
mz. kat-ii
mz. kat-ii on Dec 01 '08 at 8:45am
yeah it was so convienient! im really annoyed that they folded cuz it was kinda safer than a debit card too. phooey!

do you know if there are any other prepaid ccs around?
squatterjohn
squatterjohn on Dec 01 '08 at 8:51am
They have a Visa gift card which you can buy at 7-11 and stuff but you can only add money to it the one time and I don't know if it works on the internet. I think it's aimed more at people who want the flexibility to spend in any shop, as if they thought getting a Westfield or Coles Myer gift card was just too limiting.

Other than that, all I know of is getting a Debit card from the bank.

man i think im just gonna cave soon and get a cc. and try not to shop at 2am :P
squatterjohn
squatterjohn on Dec 01 '08 at 9:01am
This looks promising:

Canvas card.

There's some fees involved. I don't know if the deal for bopo was better, but then again, they folded so I guess they have to make money somehow. You can get them at the Co-op bookshop at ANU, or else, um, the bus station, or apply online and they come in hot pink!

OMFG!!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!

its just like bopo but non-bankrupt! im so happy right now.

squatterjohn
squatterjohn on Dec 01 '08 at 9:20am
lol, I don't think you need to cut up a prepaid card from a bankrupt company because there's no risk if someone steals the number. So keep it, I'm sure it accessorises your wallet nicely.

you must be kidding me. I created an account with threadless.com, coz I was hoping it will be a chance to use PP. I had quite long experience with PP and usually choosing seller witch has PP possibility. After some issues with credit cards I never use others (sellers) that don't have PP payment method. Pitty, but me as well as bortwein, I WOULD buy some tees if it would be PP on this site.
tracerbullet
   tracerbullet on Dec 27 '09 at 12:22pm
actually, we are kidding you. they do accept paypal. you're just clicking the wrong button.
Boycey
Boycey on Dec 27 '09 at 12:22pm
Hmm, maybe they should but then they would have to pay charges. People wouldn't want the tees to cost more or the rewards for winning to be less I guess.
Boycey
Boycey on Dec 27 '09 at 12:23pm
Oh, look they do anyway. *Scratches head in confusion.
