I enjoy all art and painting is my biggest love.
Submitting designs to threadless, for me, is kind of an enjoyable game. I like knowing that nothing of mine will ever be printed and I love the fact that I will never be notified if Threadless decides not to print it. I think the system they've developed for scoring designs is absolutely brilliant and here is why; 1. Artists hate each other 2. This is a competition for money and 3. we're all scoring EACH OTHER's art. The better your design, the more we hate you, the better score we give?? probably not. But here is the plus side.
with all this angry hateful competition pulling every design down, it makes it harder for even the best designs to get above a 3. "Why is this good?" you ask? Because the people who get that mysterious internet backwind (What i'm referring to here is the phenomina of internet popularity; how it either grows exponentially or doesnt grow at all) will get above a 3 and it will be that much easier for the threadless judges to make a decision on which of the thousand fantastic designs they will print, without having to actually look at all of them. Not only that but now that these pieces have risen above hundreds of other designs that are quite possibly better than them, they've also already been publicized in the process so Threadless never has to advertise new shirts for them to be purchased.
