Mac People - Question

I've had my macbook pro for a year now...and the charger has always gotten hot but the past few days it's gotten ridiculously hot, like i cant even hold it and it smells a little burny and sometimes just stops charging while im using it...like i can see the charger icon go back and forth

i unplug my laptop whenever the battery is fully charged and try not to recharge it until the battery gets to red or almost red

is this just what happens? should i be concerned?
i use my laptop pretty heavily, i've been iced in the past few days so my use might be up a little bit but not by a lot

should i be unplugging my charger from the actual wall outlet more?

thoughts?

My thought is that you should call Apple and ask for a replacement.

i dunno. i've had my macbook pro for 3 years now and it doesn't hold a charge anymore, i have to keep it plugged in at all times.

apple was great about replacements until my warranty ran out. then they acted like my computer had syphilis.

as far as i can tell my battery life is still fine...i'm just afraid of my charger burning something

ive heard that leaving it on your bed/blankets can be bad...maybe i should just leave it on the floor more or something

Charger could be dead, or more probably battery could be dead, or both.
Most important: DO NOT leave a charging battery unattended even for minutes if it's suspicious. Even if it's not.
Check Youtube for laptop / battery fires.

They've always done that. get super hot.
You can try to go to the 'genius' bar at the apple store and ask if it needs to be replaced. Most likely they'll you to buy one for $40.
