Recommendations from Chicago Locals

anyone know of a reputable tattoo/piercing place?

me and kayce were discussing getting pierced while in chitown come september

she wants to get her lip re-done or her tragus
and i'm toying with the idea of getting a microdermal surface anchor and or possibly my rook

(so we're not just looking for a claire's to stab us, microdermals are kind of serious business, so i want someplace good and experienced)

also i think kayce and rolf were considering getting some ink done too, although i dont know how serious they are about that buuuuut if you have tattoo artist recommendations those are appreciated as well

i gotten 2 of my 3 tattoos in chicago, and i went to Tattoo Factory. they're pretty great. really nice/careful/CLEAN.

The only tattoo/piercing place I will ever recommend is Native Rituals. They aren't in Chicago but in Oak Forest, a suburb by Chicago. My piercer has done my surface wrist, two surface clavicles, microdermal in between my clavicles, microdermal in my other wrist, microdermal nape, 12 g septum, rook, and my 8 g lobes. They all turned out great and the two piercers there are amazing.

But it would probably be very hard to get to this place from where everyone is staying in Chicago. I have been to a few places in Chicago to get two eyebrows and my first rook done. I can't say I would ever go back there though.

I guess this all doesn't really help that much either because unless you or Kayce are driving out here, it would be pretty pricey/confusing to take a cab or public transportation all the way to Native Rituals. Buttttt, I always recommend that place for people that want piercings.

i dont know anything about chicago but i know this website that sells rings made out of like mammoth bone and such...i got a nice 8g septum ring there,i cant remember it though...ill post if i can find it...just FYI

Jade Dragon is suppose to be one of the nicest in Chicago.

I've gotten all my tattoos in Michigan, but I plan on getting another one soon here in Chicago. I'll proabably either go to Jade Dragon or Uptown Tattoo Factory, which I think iDan mentioned up top. Its right off the Red Line and super easy to get to

Two years ago, a customer went to Jade Dragon Tattoo & Body Piercing in Chicago wanting to display his hometown pride with a tattoo. He wanted "Chi-Town" tattooed across his chest, but ended up with "Chi-Tonw." The customer is suing the tattoo parlor and Sam Hacker, the tattoo artist.

This morning I heard that another customer is suing them for 30,000 for spelling "tomorrow" wrong.

if thats not enough to put you off of Jade Dragon, they jack the prices up SO HIGH. especially if its your first time, they'll rip you off.

i went there for to get my 3rd tattoo and i already had the design so they didn't need to do any custom work, and it was rather small, but they said they'd do it for $280...

i went to another place in the suburbs, and they did great work for $120...

well soufumeInc, i agree with you except when it comes to pieces that aren't custom. if you bring in your own design, any shithead can trace. plus i knew friends that went there, so i saw their work beforehand.

i just knew i was getting ripped off, i wasn't looking for the cheapest price

but yeah, if its custom work, then price doesn't really matter.

haha yeah i think jade tattoo was a little full of themselves with that price....they probably would have done the design backwards or something too
