What'sthe most shocking thing you have seen on the internet?

Yesterday I read something that blew my mind. It was a screencap from a forum of gay men who wanted to have Aids. They actively sought the virus through incredibly risky sex, and then tried to infect as many people as possible.

I am not easily shocked, but that was so far removed from my sheltered suburban life.

I don't think I want gory details (or links!) but when did you see/ read something that shocked you?

There's a slang name for those people, but I forget it. I did just learn (in an Occupational Health and Safety class of all places) that positive men sometimes used to get tattoos of the biohazard symbol.

Oh the Internet. I recently saw the gif of a half-eaten mouse swimming around in a snapping turtle tank. It's not the worst or most shocking thing out there, but it made me really sad. There was also a (PETA?) video of race horses running until their legs literally snapped- I stopped watching a few seconds in when I realized what it was.

Exactly. I'm never gonna watch a video titled 'Taliban boy (12) beheads man' because I know what's gonna be in it and know I don't want to see it. I do still have that level of intrigue in some cases though so will sometimes read details.

Same applies with fiction, like that film A Serbian Film - I read the detailed synopsis on Wikipedia and figured, 'fuck that, I don't need to see any of that'

Oh you reminded me of one of the other horrible vids I saw

somewhere in Africa people were being burnt alive for apparently being witches watching them burn was pretty bad full on flames right up there faces and everything but the very worst part was when they ran from it they were dragged back and thrown on to which eventually they just accepted and gave up trying to escape and sat in the fire until death.

I guess I was just too proud... or too STUPID to admit it to myself until now... but taz-pie*... I love you. there! I said it! I LOVE YOU, okay?! haha. wow, what a load off! I feel so... so FREE! so giddy with childlike delight that I could just... I don't know... climb a mountain or something! or... or paint a masterpiece! or sit down in a Pizza Hut for 45 minutes and order the lunch buffet all by myself!
