re: October 1st
I am totally clueless as I've been AWOL due to work. I can't keep up with scoring much less blogging these days - but I'll try to do a best-of-the-best shoutout to make up for lost time at some point - there's been some good ones lately.
My mom, the technophobe, needs a new cell phone. Her current phone is a really old Nokia, the batteries are getting to the point where they won't hold a charge - and they are no longer sold.
I went with her to Cingular - and their current no-frills phone is a total piece of shit. She hates change... this is making her grumpy. So, I thought you fine folks might have some good phone recommendations for me mum. *Cingular is her current provider, she's not against switching, the contract is up, so she can switch with no penalties **she wants larger number keys - she really really hates the itty bitty keys and touchscreens - she wants big seperated buttons *she also prefers the phone itself to be larger - a flip-phone or slider might be OK - she hated the three inch long candybar style *she does NOT want a camera, MP3 player, bluetooth, internet access, or any other stuff like that (if she has to, she might grudgingly accept one with extra features and turn them off - but she doesn't want to pay a couple hundred dollars on features she doesn't want) *the cell phone is pretty much "emergency use only" and all she wants is to be able to make and receive calls that are clear and hold their signal *it needs to be current enough that batteries and chargers are available - and so i won't have to go through helping her get a replacement again anytime soon I have no idea how long I'll let this run - she uses her phone rarely, so it's not an immediate thing - but it needs to happen soon. My next STPs to the person who comes up with the best match. If she likes it, can find it, and actually gets it - you get my next 2 sets of STPs after that for a total of 3.
I should check my mail more often:

Another pointless "my favorite" blog....

love the new Critiques section
(edited 2/08) but - as more has been added - it is very difficult to navigate any comment bumps that design to the top of the list - therefore bumping Down newly added designs this is unfair to newer designers who get skipped over because people don't recognize their name and thus they get fewer responses - posts with more responses in general get more attention... vicious cycle... people can see what they have commented on as "participated" - but we cannot screen to see only the designs that are new could you PLEASE add something that would flag NEW critique posts - so that newer designs don't get lost when older posts are bumped with comments it shouldn't be difficult to add a script that remembers if you have opened a particular page, and can flag or color code those designs that you have not yet opened/viewed or, in lieu of that - keep them i order of time posted - so that people can keep track of designs by commenting and sorting by "participated" AND there has been a call by the designers to have the ability to Delete their critiques, once they have subbed them or decided to drop them - and i can see where they're coming from on that - keeping them indefinitely would only sop up bandwidth anyway... thanks P.S. anyone who agrees - please help bump this until there is an official response
i have passed the 30,000 mark....
i think this is a sign of obsessive compulsive disorder mixed with insomnia and boredom... |
I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.
