Jess, just posting this blog to let you know your holiday giveaway tee has arrived. Didn't expect it so soon, my previous order took over 5 weeks due to customs and stuff. This one got mysteriously through customs without making me pay extra (how did you do that), and arrived yesterday!

I've taken a photo in a themeparc (Efteling - Holland) of their little mermaid statue. I've traced the photo for practice on my new Wacom pen tablet. But now I've been working on it and I feel it's more and more becoming design worthy. I put it up for critique and made a blog, but I'm hesitating if I should sub...

Now I'm wondering if I can actually sub it, or is that copyright infringement? The little mermaid fairytale can be used of course, and I made the photo myself. But the statue is still recognizable as that particular one. Does anyone know this?

So I got a pen tablet for my birthday, and just started to practice in PS tracing some photo's. Here's the first result I would like to share.

I think it has great design potential, but some feedback on the drawing, ideas on the concept and suggestions for the colors are really welcome. Thanks!



In the new version I added some colors. Haven't fixed the neck yet, but will do soon!



I fixed the neck, made her lose a few pounds, but added a little line weight. Have been experimenting with many palets, and chose new colors. Please share your thoughts on this one, thanks!

It was my birthday yesterday, and my boyfriend and daughter got me a pen tablet. I'm sooooooooooo excited. Have been playing around a bit, but I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on where / how to start.

I have both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to start my learning process. Any tips would be really appreciated. Thanks!
