Hi I am design a shirt with a space theme and am pretty new to Photoshop and Illustrator, do people know have any tips and tricks for making an awesome starry space background?

Hey I am a design student and am pretty new to Illustrator and photoshop.

I am taking pictures of some drawings I did and then taking them into the programs and tracing over them - I'm not sure if this is the best way to do it and also want to know if there are any tips or tricks to making lines look more like sketched lines?
