i've tried online and in stores and had no luck.

plus, once activated they charge a percentage so you don't even get the full amount.

but now i have some and i feel like they are being wasted.

we're throwing together a competition.
despite all the bazillion loves that happen nowadays. despite the flashier prizes that you might get for other competitions. despite the fact that growing pains is no longer making new episodes.
we're taking you back, back, back to when competitions were organized here on the blogs.
and we want to know if you want to participate. (choose yes!)

FIRSTS FIRSTS - you redesign someone else's first sub (with their permission), highest score wins

Guidelines: Your first threadless sub, the tender underbelly, will be resubmitted either by you, another artist, or both! You can submit up to 3 entries into the contest. Multiple people can submit something inspired by the same 1st-sub, IF THE ORIGINAL ARTIST SAYS IT IS OK.

We prefer if this is based on your first Threadless sub, even if you have had multiple usernames, but we are lenient. You can redesign anyone's 1st sub, IF THE ORIGINAL ARTIST SAYS IT IS OKAY. If your submission fits into other competitions as well, that's fine too.

i got a box from Tonteau. it made a mess on my floor. totally worth it though, look what was inside!

next summer (a ways off, i know) my mom's side is going to have a family reunion.

i thought the last one was the last one, so i offhandedly offered to organize the next one. har har on me.

anyhoots, at our first one we had shirts w/ iron-on designs that someone printed out of their home printers.

the second one had some professional place do it.

at the last one, we didn't do anything.


SO, would any of you feel like throwing a design/typography together that says "Stewart Family Reunion" or "Stewart's" or any variation on that?

i was thinking we could put in on aprons (no sizing problem) and you could get a free apron (doesn't HAVE TO have the stewarts on it).

is aprons stupid? is there something else we could do?


there probably won't be many more of these. a lot of the family is getting on in life and not great health-wise. i fear most of our future visits will be because of someone passing. so, i'd really like to make it just a little special.

thoughts comments whatever - all appreciated.
