hello

so, i'm trying to get my shiz together and move across several states. the biggest move i've ever made before was just a couple hours away, and i didn't have much stuff.

i need advice and pointers and comments about moving long distance.

how do i go about doing job interviews so i have a job when i get there, w/o having to pay tons on flights?

is the best way to get a uhaul and lug my car w/ it and drive it all with my kid?

how do i find a place to live before i get there?

how much do i need to save for the move?

what kind of other stuff do i need to think about?

and most importantly, do i keep all these stained threadless shirts that i've been holding for a craft project or do i finally just get rid of them?

i call upon your wisdom, threadlessians!

how's it going?

been a long time. the count down to me having internet again is somewhere between 2-5 months.

sometimes i go to the laundry mat and see if their internet is working. usually i have to do a ton of stuff all at once and can't sneak in here.

anyhow, wanted to say hello.

getting ready to make more crochet stuff. also going to sell a ton of my old shirts, some 12 month ones. eventually.

won't be making it to chicago. such a bummer. everyone have fun though!

life has been really crazy for me and i miss the fun times we used to have. please post something so when i come back sporatically there will be something worth visiting.

i feel there needs to be a picture in this blog.

hello,

it is i, chelly, making a blog.

(woah!)

so, i move a lot. it isn't something i do intentionally, although i do have this deep-seated (seeded?) fear of commitment.

anyhow, i am going to be moving again and this is where i will list the things i don't like about moving.

i'd love it if you shared some of the things you don't like about moving too, or commented w/ some stories.

the on-going list:

-deciding to not renew the lease and having to tell the landlords

-trying to find a place that is better or equal to the great place you live now

-having strangers come and look at your place while you live there

-looking at some stranger's place while they live there

-nothing available until two months after you need to move

-nothing available in a decent neighborhood

-nothing available for a decent $$$$$

-restarting bills and thus paying a shitload

-a deposit that is due before the old deposit comes back

-dust

-realization that you have too much stuff that you can't bear to part with

-separation anxiety

-having a ton of flat boxes but zero tape and no money

-not being able to talk about anything except moving

-everything is heavy and awkward

-people like to chat w/ you when you are moving heavy and awkward things; those ppl are arseholes

-the last day of the month first day of the month moving crossover

more pending

i dunno how, but a strange turn of events has made it so that most of my friends do not like me anymore.

it hurts pretty bad.

and i'm not around here much anymore, so that feels like a bit of a void.

please say something friendly so i can live vicariously through the interweb.

thanks

these people owe ir0cko a shirt for using his photography. i'll probably be contacting you by other means, but maybe a blog will catch a few of you.

buy him a shirt while the sale is on, everyone wins.

please bump often.

it's that time of the year again, for a new calendar.

don't want your old one? send it to me!

love your old one, but don't know what to do with it? send it to me!

you may or may not remember, i make envelopes out of calendars.
they are a fun way to reuse.

I SEND THEM BACK TO YOU FOR FREE!

please bump this blog during the day while i'm at work. i might even stp you.

if you are interested in calendars into envelopes, email me (ladylilac*gmail).

also, if you are brave enough to talk to local stores to grab their old calendars...that would be awesome.

ended up too small for me (and the arms are too long for a kid).

i tried a looser stitch so it would stretch and it might over time, but its not for me and thus i won't finish the pockets and tie-belt.

no buttons/zipper

small or petite

some funds for shipping would be ok ( $3?)

leave your email address in the comments if yes

also also, would dudes buy/wear these if i made more?

thanks
