it's that time of the year again, for a new calendar.

don't want your old one? send it to me!

love your old one, but don't know what to do with it? send it to me!

you may or may not remember, i make envelopes out of calendars.
they are a fun way to reuse.

I SEND THEM BACK TO YOU FOR FREE!

I was going to because I taught middle school art last year, but they weren't into it, and this year I teach 3 year olds, and they are not too hot at precision folds, so I might just scoop all the calendars I collected and send them off to someone who will use them for certain.

ppl need to tell me if they want the calendars back as envelopes or if they are just sending them to me because i asked and they were going to recycle them anyhow

i don't mind either way

also, you can totally make your own! just use an old envelope as a guide, fold and double-side tape (or glue)

calendars are a great material for lots of art projects. they are sturdy, but glue and cut well. kinda like national geographic magazines.

hey jeffreyg! it is pretty simple.

1 - find an envelope and undo it, this is your stencil

1a. i like to use the outer bit of the calendar as the real stencil since it is sturdier, but this isn't necessary

2 - find a calender, unstaple it, cut in half

3 - figure out where you like the design best on the envelope, outline on the back of the picture

4 - cut the outline

5 - fold at creases (i use a ruler to help)

6 - double-side tape (or glue stick, but i haven't tried it) the bits that need to stick together

6a - flatten envelopes under big books (totally not necessary, but i like to do it)

try it your own way and let me know if you have any helpful hints

also, try different sizes of envelopes because not everything fits the size of the calendar
