So, that was fun. There was only one person from my initial list that didn’t get anything because she stopped blogging and her emails bounced back; I made up for it by adding many others though. This is the first major project that I’ve ever finished that was completely my own doing, and it is astonishing to see the end results. A big thank you for everyone who participated and encouraged along the way. I hope to someday soon have an etsy store, but maybe just use it as a way to keep track of art swaps.

NOTE: if you want wicked-cool crafty goodness, HEAD OVER TO KIRSTEN'S ETSY. for realz!

Wil approved?

You need to start selling your wears. The scarfs you did for me and Kate are my favourites.

If I come up with an idea, do you think you'd be able to make me a couple of hats for my nephews in time for Christmas? I'd pay of course.

i'd have to say no, not w/ the time-limit. i would take your ideas and discuss it w/ you though (w/o deadline).

NICOLE- thank you!!!! you have no idea how many places i looked for those. i'll be putting them w/ the rest shortly.

Those bottom 2 hats are especially amazing, I bet theyd sell like hotcakes on Etsy. Do you have to use patterns or can you just do it from your imagination?

i had to put your one picture in there twice because there was such a lapse in time between me making the one hat and you receiving the other. hope you don't mind. :)

i wing it, because i don't know how to read patterns since i taught myself. sometimes a curse, sometimes a blessing.

chelly
chelly on Nov 12 '07 at 9:13am
yes, on that one i can officially say that ski masks are for KNITTING never to be crocheted

that is, if i were official enough to say those things

Ooh, I thought of something and I just want to post it before I forget (even tho I know you want to wait and that's OK) ... I am loving bunnies lately so a bunny scarf (face/ears on one end and fuzzy tail on the other) might be cute! Or something a bit different from what you've done above if you're looking for new challenges -- maybe some bunny puppet-like mittens. I just finished watching the Greg the Bunny TV series and he is the cutest with his button eyes :)

You are quite possibly the most amazing, talented person every Chelly. I'm amazingly impressed!!!

Like, seriously. One day over my christmas break I'll drive to lawrence and you can teach me how to make more than just a straight scarf!
chelly
chelly on Nov 12 '07 at 11:11am
OMG GREG THE BUNNY! i just found that show recently and i love it very much. vlad makes me laugh. if you can sketch up what you are talking about, that'd help me figure out in my head how it could be done.

pinkelephants, i'd love to show you how, so long as you are ok w/ me not knowing any of the technical terminology. this is what it will sound like "pull that loop through, do it again, ok ok, so here's where you don't pull the loop through, and now you DO pull the loop through..." :)
pinkelephants
pinkelephants on Nov 12 '07 at 11:13am
Ha, that's basically how I learned to crochet in the first place. My grandma taught me, and she's been crocheting since birth, so she doesn't know any of the terms.

But I never see her anymore, so I can't learn anything new.
telaine
telaine on Nov 12 '07 at 11:16am
Greg's snowball song is the best ever! :)

Snowball, snowball, what do you do with snowfall? You ball it up, and make it stick, and then you hurl it like a brick. Snowball, you are my best friend. Snowball, your love never ends. Whether you are white or yellow, you are sure my favorite fellow. Snowball, I'm in love with you. Snowball, you complete me. Snowball, you make me rock my world.

And sure, I can sketch both ideas up sometime soon and you can pick. :)

Ms Chelly
Would you want to do a trade? I'll make you a pretty wallet with my awesome leather sewing skills in exchange for one of your funky scarves?? Or I'll use fabric if you're a vegetarian or just don't like leather. (I've accepted the fact that not everyone shares my love of genuine leather heheh) My neck gets cold riding my vespa to work... heheh and I have a few scarflets I've bought from kirsten but would just love a chelly original. Interested??
melhel86
melhel86 on Nov 12 '07 at 3:38pm
yep Chelly we just bought a house, we're moving about an hour away from "home". No huge deal but still a huge pain in the ass.

Next weekend I have to spend from 9 am-4 pm in some engaged retreat with my church, then move on Sunday. Shoot me.
chelly
chelly on Nov 12 '07 at 3:43pm
pyr4lis, yes, i would love to do a trade so long as you don't have a specific time in mind. scarves are generally quite easy, so once i got started it wouldn't take too long. i'd need to know things like what colors you like, long or short scarf (thick or thin), you want tassles? that sort of stuff.

OH GHOD MEL! please tell me there's some booze or a hot bath or something wonderful planned at the end of that weekend.
pyr4lis
pyr4lis on Nov 12 '07 at 4:01pm
Whatever you would like is fine Chells! I've got nothing in mind.. just a desire to own one of your beautiful and wild creations :) Right now my favorite colors are Sunshine yellow and Olive green.. although my birthstone is sapphire so I also like deep dark blues too!

I'd say long and thick for max warmness against the cold cold wind.. it would be nice if it would cover my neck and still be able to pull up over the lower half of my face since I don't have a full face helmet. LA mornings and evening can be freaking cold running 55mile/hr for 30 min on a vespa to work.

As for you what do you like? Want something fun & weird or more normal? Do you want leather? Leather-wise I have a classy espresso brown that is nearly black as well as a kinda orangey-light brown.... I also have a vintagy dark mossy green color. And last but not least I also have some small pieces of funky shiny metallics curtosy of Ms. Ladykat. I think in Pink, and Red, and Gold.

Also do you prefer zipper, snap, or folding type? If you have a picture of something you like that would be a big help with construction of a pattern. :)
