no, but i definately wish that i would meet some of the pretty girls who where them.

so, you are an elliot smith fan. how does that effect your work as far as your art is concerned?

he doesnt really have much to do with my art. he's more like a buddy who chats with you about some of the rougher times of his life. And so you can listen to it and just kinda say to yourself

"yeah, me too." but i like his dark imagery, i want to be a lot darker that i am. Maybe more evil.

please recommend one cartoon and one children's book.

The threadless community and its tendency to act like the "small town". Its too safe, its soo simple, its too nice.

there is soooo much potential for artist to grow and meet eachother.

thats why i stuck around. i wanted to quit multipule times.
but when i meet artist/designers who are GOOOD i mean really fucking good,

they say i hate threadless- because they print pieces fuckign of toast with smiley faces. I just wish there was some sort of insentive for really good up and coming designers to stick around.

i think there was a big comotion about artist talking about the shirts that got printed elsewhere.

i liked that one though.

great read josh. you are one of my favorite artists on here and i'm glad you picked him chelly! i agree with a lot of what you said in there. this has been a great place to meet some great artists and some great people who are appreciators of art. i would like to see more growth but this is still a pretty cool place.

also, i think it's great that you mentioned FLCL and referenced That Thing You Do!

"its not on threadless" -- i dont have any prints at any place besides threadless YET, i just meant to say that the work i do for threadless is not exactly me.

i used to do a lot straight forward sales ads. car ads, cell phone ads, coke decorated scions. It was horrible, i could do it well but i didnt believe in it.

Thats kind of what happens when i design for threadless. I have this feeling or idea that i cant make anythign too cerebral, artsy or strange.

So i just meant to say that threadless designs are not my best work.
im happy with this right now

do you have enough prints to do a select?

if yes, you would be able to do a lot of the things you've felt has held you back in the past.

i also wonder why you don't submit stuff like you have in your flickr.

for example:

because people crap there pants when they see hot stuff like that. Too lazy to clean their bottoms would be the bottomline
