alright so i know it might be over used a lot on here and all, but i'm just curious as to how everyone makes the splatter marks. is there any effect anyone uses or do you sit and create each drop. another thing i haven't bothered figuring out is how you make your designs look almost vintage like and worn. if there are any filters or any steps to this can someone please give me a couple tips. thanks.

that stuff is done with brushes in photoshop. just go to google or yahoo and type in photoshop brushes and there will be tons of sites. all you have to do is download the brushes you want and un-zip them to your desktop and put them in the brushes folder.

Well personally I splatter India Ink on a piece of white paper until I get the shape I'm looking for and scan it, or I draw the drips by hand. If you observe how things splatter you get a feel for how to illustrate it. Real splatter feels more visceral though.

Yeah, you can either download brushes, or be cool and make your own. I do a little of both.

To get a "vintage" effect, you will want to mess with the opacity, and layer settings.

All about me

What's going on all you fine and lovely people of the threadless community. I'm currently at the Rochester Institute of Technology for graphic design and I'm LOVING IT. I hope to eventually have some designs submitted and along with that my fellow college comrades and I are going to be creating a delicious little art website so keep your eyes peeled baby.
