awesome shoes that are good for walking? BOUGHT EM

I don't want to hurt my feets again at the Chicago meetup this fall or any other casual event that involves lots of walking. Anyone got good ideas for cool-looking shoes that are nice to feet?

Update

I went shoe crazy the past two days.

Yesterday, I got some Converse for $20 at TJ Maxx just for fun (not crazy walking). Is $20 a decent price or should I return them?

Like these but more dusty pink ..

Because today, I went to Rogan's and got some cushy cushy ROOS! I wasn't expecting to like em but they were so nice. And fun colors, too! This isn't them because I can't find my colors online (lavendar, gray, yellow).

And for half off, I got these Union Bay flipflops cuz they are squishy :-)

those are supposed to be really comfortable.

i've been scoping them out for a year now

telaine, last year i got some skateboarding shoes. they are extra cushie!

maybe some extra jel inserts would help too.

Converse I think I really good, but they hurt your feet after a long walk because of the thin soles.

there's a brand called simple that is all comfort
although a search for "simple shoes" isn't going to give you the exact results w/o some digging

yay, lotso ideas! So far most of these are sold in our mall area. I have time to try a bunch out and if I'm spending $50, I want the bestest shoes ever. I kinda want to get some Sanuks to replace my worn mules and a regular shoe, too, now. haha

crocs are comfy and light, you cannot fight the facts mezo

The only Croc fact I am fighting is the DECENT factor.

Wearing pillows duct taped to your feet might also be comfy & light, but it is not visually acceptable.

I'm gonna have to try on the cute crocs for myself. They would be good for gardening, which is what they look like they're for.

i was goign to say teh same thing as chelly ...skateboarding shoes especially when new are like walking on marshmallows mine are now a year old but still super comfy the brand id look for is actually nike ..theyre a bit tough to find cause nike promised to only sell them at skate shops but theyre comfy and generally very cool looking

Try ecco - these are the most comfortable shoes I have worn (and they have all types of shoes - casual, business, etc.)... very durable as well :)

A little hard to find them cheap though... but hey, that's why they invented ebay.

Oh, I totally second the Ecco recommendation! One of my very favorite shoes are Ecco.

Sierra Trading Post carries a number of Ecco shoes.

These are the shoes I have, but in dark brown - I am still kicking myself for not getting another pair when they were still available in my size:

oh, priscilla, those shoes are not good for walking long distances.
they're rocketdogs and the heel is quite high. i'll try to find a photo.

I tried on some eccos last summer and my feet did not like. I actually ended up buying Rocketdogs that have a slight heel. They are OK comfy but not for walking lots. They hurt my feet at the mishmash.

I like my MBTs but you have to get used to them. I bought them at walkers warehouse or some such discount joint online so they were only 150 compared to the 250 at other places.

I also LOVE volatile shoes, they are platform sneakers but it's a cushy foam so I find it most comfortable.

can't go wrong with classic New Balances

and you can get them in colors that look less like shoes your grandfather would wear, but I like the grey.
