Don't get me wrong. This is a really great site. Althought I've bought four shirts from this site, and have been happy with the initial quality, it has become obvious that after only one year of having the shirts, the quality of the fabric is really poor.

What should be added to this site is an option to pay more to buy a quality t-shirt. Whatever company is currently being used, it fucking sucks. I have shirts that are much older than mymy threadless shirts and they're fine.

PLEASE OFFER BETTER QUALITY SHIRTS! I WILL BUY MORE FROM THIS SITE EVEN IF THEY COST MORE!

^i agree with this guy.. maybe not the way he's put the point forward though. At the end of the day Fruit of the Loom aren't great shirts by any stretch of the imagination. If there was an option to pay more, and have them printed on AA, I would actually be inclined to buy more shirts in the long run.

Oh:( I havent had mine for a year yet. Will they be that bad? Thats sad! I like the tees a lot!!! They must not die from me!

Don't get me wrong, they're not bad tee shirts... they're just not good. You can teel when you put on a store s shirt for example, that the fit is netter, and they're generally lighter.

The fact that they're printed on FOTL has made me cut down on the amount I buy to be honest, as I only buy shirts that i REALLY like now.

I have Threadless shirts that are coming up to 2 years old and there's nothing wrong with them. the print on a few of my favorites has since begun to crack but that's to be expected.

It all depends on how you take care of them.

I have t-shirts that I've been wearing for about 5 years now (from various companies). The point is to not over-wash them and then, personally, I air-dry all my t-shirts. No tumble-dry.
Rock Deputy
Rock Deputy on Sep 12 '06 at 5:08pm
Note: when washing (and tumble-drying.. if you're into that sort of thing) always turn your shirts inside out.. the print will last a lot longer if it's not rubbing against other chothing items.

Secrets to Tshirt Longevity:

1. Wash in cold water not hot water. If you feel you absolutely need some heat then wash them at warm.

2. Turn them inside out before washing and drying them. The print will last longer.

3. Hang dry them on a drying rack. This is the best way to make any clothing last longer. If you must tumble dry then do so at a permanent press setting, never hot setting.

4. Do not iron them. Fold them as soon as they are dry/done in the dryer. Heat = slow death.

5. Treat them likes they was your chil'ren. If you participate in activities that are hard on your clothing then don't wear your favorite shirts while doing them. Throw your dirty shirts in a bid/bag and fold/hang/put away clean shirts. Throwing your shirts on the floor where they are constantly being stepped on will cause them to die much quicker.

I never wash anything cold, I never turn any clothes upside down, I wash all colors together, I trow all clothes on the floor and step on them and once accidently jumped on one. My threadless-shirts are bound to die young!

hey...
well,
i guess that is a good idea,
but do i take off the shirt while i shower? or shower with it on?
eimran
eimran on Sep 12 '06 at 5:39pm
Yeah. I'm a bit of a lazy laundry person. But I noticed all my stuff (good quality and poor) lasted a lot better if I took the time ot follow the care instructions plus the extra precautions. I have a shirt I bought from a different site that's a better quality than threadless, but there's a big hole at one of the seams. Sometimes there's just a problem. *shrug* I'm not above re-stitching ripped seams.

Wixywaxy
Wixywaxy on Sep 12 '06 at 5:45pm
You can shower with it, but you must wash yourself in cold water. NOT HOT, preferably turn yourself inside out, and hang yourself dry on a drying rack.

This is the only way to get rid of the BO and also take care of the Threadless shirt and print!

yeah - you better put on some more clothes if you are going to shower in cold water. A wool sweather perhaps?

kornsliprage

Hmmm.. I do the following:

1. Wash in cold water.
2. Wear them on a regular basis.
3. Treat them with love.

However, I don't air dry them. I did that initially but they don't fit as well unless I throw them in the dryer. I should also say that I wash them as little as possible, only when they smell bad. Otherwise, they are hanging up in my closet.

Is there any way to formally ask Threadless about the possibility of having the option for a higher quality shirt?

PS I know I have a bad username. But this is the account I initially bought my first shirt on. Don't hate.

I do all my laundry at 40 degrees. I tumble dry my boyfriends shirts, but air dry mine (I feel the girly ones are a little more fragile). Never had a problem. I also wash them after every wearing, and some of them get worn a lot. I'm sorry you've had problems.

Just about half of my shirts have seams that are split and undone, even after just 3 washes. It's pretty much made me not want to buy anything else.
