I like to use Illustrator, and I'm thinking about buying a tablet.

I'm concerned about how well tablets can trace with Illustrator's Pen tool. I know tablets can draw, paint, sketch, etc. nicely...in Photoshop, but what about Illustrator? Would I benefit from using a tablet with Illustrator? Or should I just stick with shifting anchor points around with a mouse?

Thanks in advance. :)

Tablets really offer no benefit when working with anchor points.

Crap. Its been a few months since I've touched Illustrator. I'm playing around with it now, and I just realized that there is a Pencil tool.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but, if I wanted to use a tablet with Illustrator, effectively, I would be better off using the pencil tool, right?

I draw with a tablet and the pencil tool in Illustrator for my linework. And I use the pen tool for my fills. You can't get the clean lines with the pencil tool that you can get with the pen tool, but I don't use clean lines anyways.
