Need laptop help :(
My laptop, an Advent KC500-P, has just stopped charging. I plug it into the mains, and zilch. What's a girl to do? It's only got 9 minutes of battery time left now.

Pro tip: Only have the battery fitted when you're charging it to take out of the house. Other than that, just have it plugged into the mains.

Laptop batteries are famous for burning out if you leave them on charge. The battery on our laptop is also dead and we have to get a new one.

i have an advent laptop too! the battery totally died on me. i never use that thing any more which means it's just a portable laptop :(

Well if it was a dying battery, it would still run from the mains, wouldn't it? Which it doesn't, it doesn't even show up as charging. I thought it wasn't in warranty but it turns out that it still is, so I rang up and they're going to take it away for two weeks. Sucks, but at least it's free. Thanks yous guys.

Also thanks for the pro-tip Aled, I pretty much run mine off the mains the whole time and never knew to take the battery out.
