I must say that I find it terribly disheartening when within seconds after submitting a slogan it immediately gets at least 4 drive down votes. It is an attack, and I have often wondered if these drive down voters even read my slogans. On one hand, I do realize not all of my slogans are print quality, but on the other hand, I believe that some are quite good.

I think people should perhaps be allowed to vote down, but if they do more than say four or five in a row, a short span of time, then they should have to validate why they vote 'um stupid' and the moderators on TL, then judge whether the drive down vote should be allowed to be counted. This may stop the compulsive drive down votes.
What do others think?

Yes, some people have been helpful, but the majority of them have told me that my slogans suck! So what do you expect me to do, sit and take it? I have been tarred and feathered here!

This Blog was not about me, it was about how people vote others down due to competition, unfair play. I had read about it on Brightwoods Blog.

Kim456 on Aug 02 '09 at 4:30am
Her blog was more about slogans that have already hit the 65% or higher range and we have all been victim to that.

The comments about your slogans haven't (for the most part) been personal attacks, it is just feedback. The honest feedback is what I love about this place whether it be on my slogans or designs. It is because people have told me what they think that I have been able to improve both. Just look at my deleted slogans or early designs if you need proof of that!

Thanks to the brutal honesty of the people here I have seen improvements in my scores for both.

Perhaps if you could just take in all the feedback the people who have taken time to give you, you too may see an improvement.

Trying to have a rational conversation with you is like preaching tolerance at a hate rally. I have serious doubts about you even reading what I just wrote because if you had you would understand that no one is "tar and feathering" you, and that I was giving you a peace offering.

I will reflect on what everyone has said and remove some of my slogans. Actually, I had already been doing that. I am not opposed to constructive criticism, but sarcasm I can do without, like anyone else.

The thing that made me angry was not the suggestions from people, that in it are helpful, but some of you definitely have gone and down voted many of my slogans. So, yes, I did not imagine being attacked. Be nice, give me advice and yes, I do listen. I am actually a nice person, if you care to get to know me.

OMG, I joined this site to try and keep busy as one of my beautiful friends died of Cancer recently! I am kind of sorry that I have now. Perhaps it is good that I have not added any of my designs, as I was preparing to do that soon.

In the scheme of things, this all just crazy, life is far too short to take anything too seriously!

Calliope_Oz
Calliope_Oz on Aug 02 '09 at 6:17am
I doubt that you are a loser Tom. Why do you say that about yourself?

I am doing okay, the loss of friend is sad because she loved life and did not want to die. I wrote a few of her sayings on here, in a way of dedicating them to her. She was a very positive person who achieved so much and had so much to give. I truly miss her, she was like a mother to me.

She encouraged me with my University studies... I had hoped that she would attend my graduation.

Anyway, now I am rambling.

Calliope_Oz on Aug 02 '09 at 1:11am DekuTrash, "I also have this shirt in blue."

Wow you could use the whole rainbow of colours..for example: "I also have this shirt in green". How much brain power did it take to come up with that slogan (Slow Clap)

Ohhh! A personal attack, yum. Actually it didn't take much brain power at all. More importantly I DIDN'T use the vast array of colors and sumbit every last one. I don't get this. I have pitched in advice and haven't made any rude remarks toward you or you're slogans. I have been as nice as I possibly can.

Childish remarks will not do here.

I am done.

Listen, I got on the defensive as soon as people starting saying that they look at all my Slogans, and they thought that they all sucked. How would that make you feel?

Yes, I took the bait and this is the unfortunate results.

I did not put down everyone’s comment; in fact I actually do appreciate advice and have taken it.

This Blog was started by me, but was composed by all you who have said more nasty things than nice. Again, let me say that I appreciate the advice that did not contain sarcasm.

This situation on here has never happen before in my life.

I am good, kind woman with a big heart.

I would like to move on from here as I have had enough upsets in the past few that could last me a life time.

I want to make friends not enemies. *Extends Olive Branch*

You have to separate the Internet from real life. No one is judging you or attacking you.

When you make slogans, and then blog about them, you have to be able to take what comes for what it is worth.

I've been back on here since the start of the year, and have seen plenty of new sloganeers arrive with not so great slogans, and people tell them.

You cannot improve if people don't tell you the truth. And those new sloganeers with not so good slogans, they took advice and worked to become better.

It's time to start fresh. This blog needs to end and for everybody to start a-new.

Ok... well, in an attempt to be objective and helpful.... some slogans are fine and dandy... some, even though they're good, you just don't want to wear. I will admit, I checked yours out, and some of them are cheesy buggers I've seen on quotes sites. Don't get defensive, because some of them are probably okay... there's just a MASSIVE amount of them you've submitted. When I'm wandering down a page of random slogans, if I can't see myself wearing it or it has no bearing with my sense of humor, I'll automatically shoot it down. After all, the community is made up of individuals who already know what they want on their bodies. You have got to remember this on this site: people are going to vote on what fits in their lifestyle. If someone has a different sense of humor or is looking for something different than you submit, you're going to consistently get shot down. There's a good chance they don't even know it's you they're consistently voting against. I don't really pay attention to who submits what, I just vote. And a good 80% of what I vote for gets bombed by me. And that's slogans from everybody.

I think that 'root' doesn't mean the same thing in the US as it does in Australia.

Like, "I'm rooting for the Chicago Cubs" doesn't mean that I support them, but it means something much naughtier.

Pretty much everyone who starts submitting slogans on threadless submits complete crap at first. I know I did, and I would still be doing it if people hadn't have told me that my slogans sucked balls. I listed, now I have been printed.

Also, Sarcasm is the force that holds threadless together, and makes up about 90% of all comments, you have to get used to that and have a good time with it. A sense of humor goes a long way here.
SunnieBunnie
SunnieBunnie on Aug 02 '09 at 7:02pm

Your slogans are like reading a Cathy comic

people aren't out to just vote you or anyone down. And anyone who thinks that is an idiot. If a slogan sucks, it sucks, and people will vote it down. Deal with it.
