people can be so nasty in leaving comments.

but what i think is worse is when the people reciveing the comments don't like what is said then flame the commentor. it was a few days ago, but i was thinkign about it today.....it was a mediocre shirt, i had a fe swuggestions, then saw that in reply to each of the people who had left comments (and they were actually pretty constructive comments too) the shirt creator had insulted thier shirts or their photos in thier profile. so i didn't leave a comment. i knew the return comment would regard my lack of submissions.

quite frankly, i havn't designed anything i think is worth posting. i have ideas, but i can never actualize them....they are stuck in my head. (my long standing problem with art, i have the creativity or at least feel i do, but no the talent via pens nor computers). why should this disqualify me from saying what i like or dislike about someone elses design? why would not submitting anything myself suddenly make me unable to see what i like or dislike?

i judge designs based on several things: the idea, the execution, does it work on a shirt, and would i wear it on a shirt? with the loves threadless compets, i also take into account how it relates to the theme. all these factors play into the score i give.

eh. well. thats what was on my mind.

For what it's worth, if someone comes back and bombs you for not submitting anything, well, they've successfully mastered the obvious, but haven't really invalidated your opinion. Not all of the great art critics were artists themselves, many have been and are really insightful people who knew what they were looking at and could express it. Consider yourself in good company and ignore fragile egos with big mouths.
