(This started as an alumni blog but I'm moving it into the regular blogs to get further feedback)

I think this is going to rule.

I made a thing I am calling "POWER SCORE!" ... check it out:
http://www.threadless.com/powerscore

It's basically just another, faster, addictive, game-like way to score subs. If it works out and ppl like it, we'll offer it up for everyone to use. But it won't replace the current format.

Let me know what you guys think, feel free to use it all you wish!

I think you have you monitor set at the wrong res, Mike. I can see the whole design just fine without scrolling.

If you mis-score a sub, and it switches to the next sub, you can get the first one to come back by clicking it again

it still goes to a blank white screen when I comment on anything... :(

the czar - i've tried that at work and at home and it doesn't work for me anymore (although it did once)

i dunno if my monitors just aren't big enough to allow me to access the images where to click or what

it is my only complaint on the powerscore

Chellz - I just found that out today, and t seems to work, I do keep my window very wide, though.
Kashlen - I still get the blank screen when commenting, also

*sigh* I really like it except for that.

oh wait, it doesn't have the thing where it gives you the link to post about the design....bring that back please!

and as usual, i have to vote on some designs more than once

also, sometimes it just glitches and i have to refresh the powerscore

all these things happen on my pc and mac

I kind of wish I could scroll back to something I already scored, just in case a comment comes to mind.

I have to scroll to see everything atm, because I'm on my netbook so if people also have old monitors they'll also have to scroll. But it least the scroll position stays constant rather than loading the entire header again and starting you at the top of the page. This would force people to scroll even if they had quite high resolutions.

Also, don't know if it's also screen-size related or not, but I can't click back to get the previous design I scored to return, but I can click ahead to get the next one.

Wow, thanks to POWER SCORE!™ I just scored all of the designs currently in the running for the first time in... at least a couple of years.

At the end, you get a HANDY PRIZE.

This is pretty cool. Should prevent the arthritis caused by multiple tabs! ;)

I like this. The commenting function seems to work fine, too. I still wish the image fit on my screen without scrolling. (And yes, my res is set to its maximum... it's just that I have a 12" laptop.)

Seems like there should be more congratulations along the way... 400+ subs is a lot to go through. Maybe something like, "High 5! You've scored 25% of the subs. Only xxx to go!"

Oh, and speaking of this debate about image size - has anyone looked at whether there's a proportional difference between people with small screens who frequent Threadless vs. those who score many subs?

I did some Powerscoring today and still had problems.

The jumping image problem is still there, and now sometimes the buttons do not work. It'll jump the page to the top, and then I click the buttons and nothing happens and I have to refresh.

I've noticed that the buttons in some Flash presentations don't load in Powerscore, particularly the one with 3 slides (example here) and I'm using Mozilla Firefox 3.5.2 When scoring, I just see the first slide, and can't click through unless I open the sub in the standard scoring mode.

wow this is neat!

I think now that people submit a jpg and a flash file, Power Score often - but not always - loads the jpg which is why you're seeing only the first slide. This is OK, but I'd like there to be a rule that placement must be on the jpg rather than just copying a slide from the presentation.

some buttons still don't load, and certain subs with an automatically changing presentation don't change. I've gotten past that by right clicking the title to open it in a new tab (which opens in the traditional scoring format), and then skipping the sub on powerscore. But if this Powerscore goes official, there should either be warning for designers of what will and won't work, or the system should be fixed.

All about me
First of all, thanks for using Threadless! I spent many long, sleepless nights building this website! Shondi, my wife, is the best! Right now she is smiling like a little frog.

We live in Chicago and have 2 dogs, Norman and Sophie. We work together for skinnyCorp, a company Jacob and I started back in late 2000 along with this very site you're on right now, Threadless!

Since then, we've built all kinds of neat community driven websites and absolutely love doing it. Hoorah!
