(This started as an alumni blog but I'm moving it into the regular blogs to get further feedback)

I think this is going to rule.

I made a thing I am calling "POWER SCORE!" ... check it out:
http://www.threadless.com/powerscore

It's basically just another, faster, addictive, game-like way to score subs. If it works out and ppl like it, we'll offer it up for everyone to use. But it won't replace the current format.

Let me know what you guys think, feel free to use it all you wish!

This may be the freakin answer to not being able to score as much as I want. Very quick, yet you can still comment below when a design merits it. I think it's brilliant and may very well be the solution to the low scoring numbers going on now. I say make it an option when peeps hit score.
Brilliant thinking skaw (threadless)!!!!!

OOPS! Major glitch when I write a comment and hit comment, the screen goes blank. So I hit back and I'm at the first design I started out scoring. Still, must be a glitch you can fix, because this is really cool in all the ways I stated above. What I'm doing now, to cope with the glitch, is rapidly scoring designs I don't like and skipping the ones I do. Then I go back and check out the ones I haven't scored (the self-edited good ones) to comment and score in the usual way. Hope that makes sense :P

My only suggestion would be to have "POWER SCORE!" load the subs with the least amount of time left, first. I try score them that way knowing I have up to 7 days left to score the other designs.

great feature!!! a sort random vs. time left would be very cool too.. but this is a great improvement.

I actually rated all the subs because of this invention.

cool! it works great! I don't know if someone mentioned it already, but sometimes the design doesn't show up, and I only see the score bar. I'm at my work right now on IE7.

it happens to me quite often actually. When I rate a design, sometimes I see the next design for 0.1 second, and then it disappears. Comments are also not visible then.

liking how when i scroll down a little bit to fit the main brunt of the design on the screen, it stays that way for them all. no more uppy-downy. :)

this may stop me from doing flash presentations...they come across as slightly annoying when you speed through the scoring.

shit, yeah. this is awesome but it's so easy to give the wrong score when they're going by fast... is there any way to go back?
fatheed

skaw - In addition to using the number keys, it would be RAD if you could make it so the arrow keys can shift throught the designs. Like left to go back and right to skip scoring and pass to the next one?

How far fetched would it be to make it so that the up and down arrows push scroll the page so you can quickly check the comments?

That's probably being a bit greedy - but it would be rad and a lot quicker to POWERSCORE using just the keyboard.

PS: Make the spacebar the FIRE button.

you could just press the "end" key, which brings you to the bottom of the page. it's half an inch closer than page down.

My macbook pro doesn't have any such buttons. I know there are other shortcuts and buttons, but I'm just saying for functionality - it would be cool to be able to just use the arrow keys and the num pad or number keys.

It's like getting to play Golden Axe on the arrow keys instead of being the second player on the W, A, S, D buttons. You can still play, but it's not as good.

don't the up/down arrow keys scroll like that already?
they do here, on firefox (unless having clicked on a flash thing).

the left/right for scrolling through designs, instead of having to click back and forth, yeah that would be good.

i appreciate how - on a laptop without the number pad - the zero is distanced from the rest of the quickfire score buttons. somehow double checks if it really is that bad of a design to go reach over there. usually isn't. a nice accidental in this alleviator of voter woe.

All about me
First of all, thanks for using Threadless! I spent many long, sleepless nights building this website! Shondi, my wife, is the best! Right now she is smiling like a little frog.

We live in Chicago and have 2 dogs, Norman and Sophie. We work together for skinnyCorp, a company Jacob and I started back in late 2000 along with this very site you're on right now, Threadless!

Since then, we've built all kinds of neat community driven websites and absolutely love doing it. Hoorah!
