This shirt is really cool. I believe the design is based on a book that I read called "Terror" by Dan Simmons. It is fiction but based on the ill-fated Franklin Expedition to find the Northwest Passage in 1845. In the book everyone dies from either starvation, frostbite, scurvy, extreme exposure OR a monster of Inuit legend. All of this seems to be captured in this design. Pretty cool.

@pzich - Look up photographer Frank Hurley. I believe this design is based off a photograph he took on Shackleton's doomed expedition to Antarctica in the Endurance. (http://www.bulgergallery.com/dynamic/fr_artwork_display.asp?ArtworkID=1031)
It may not be, but that's what it reminds me of anyway.
