I don't think he mention about vultures. Vultures are the figures of the western culture. In my opinion he talks about that a mankind's life is short but the birds are flying and they sembolize the life. In another word, the life is so short that at the time we were talking about these here, birds are flying.
Though it is your opinion, I think you should take a moment to ask the authours permission for use of the lines.
I do like the design, but I am iffy about the lack of permission going on here ...
