I always prefer to give animals unlikely human names like Hugo, Igor or Victor.

A sketch might help to give a bit more of an impression of the character.

It is a reference to Schrodinger's Cat, which is one of the most celebrated scientific paradoxes. See:

"A cat is placed in a box, together with a radioactive atom. If the atom decays, and the geiger-counter detects an alpha particle, the hammer hits a flask of prussic acid (HCN), killing the cat. The paradox lies in the clever coupling of quantum and classical domains. Also, upon further review, I believe there is a cat in Checkerboard Nightmare named Schroedinger, in reference to the paradox. So, it's creatively taken.

It was more of a boy cat's name anyhow.
