I really feel like the ninja thing has been overdone, and the pirate vs. ninja just as much. I do like your illustration style, though, even though I don't think this is the best example of it. I do know that you can do some awesome stuff, and you don't/shouldn't need to use stale jokes to win the masses.
The ninja did remind me extremely much of Gringz'z The Ninjas Are Bored sub, but after looking at both submissions I realise they aren't any more alike than any other two black-clothed folks of the ninja persuasion.
I like that the mink and the 'pus reference the style of their leash holders--I didn't notice that at first, but it helps what I think of the sub.
All in all: Tired subject, but nice job. Could benefit from some color play/shading. I wouldn't wear it, but I understand that a lot of people would.
