Comics-On Tees!

I've been passionate about comics since the day I opened a box under the Christmas tree filled with a variety of superhero comics. I would read, daydream, and go to sleep thinking of being a superhero and blasting through time and space.

As I've grown I've discovered comics aren't just about superheroes and can convey emotion through story and art that I couldn't find in any other medium. It's just as exciting to go to my local comic shop and pick up something new as it was the day I opened that box under the Christmas tree.

Last year I was having a conversation about comics with Jake Nickell and this idea for Comics-On Tees sparked. We both agreed to make it work we had to find the right curator and I had someone in mind.

One of my fave comics of all time is The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. It's a story with a little of everything and I probably read the whole series at least once a year. This is the first comic where I saw how much an artist can convey emotion in a character without any words. The artwork that moved me the most was by Jill Thompson.

I knew that Jill had or possibly was still living in Chicago so I looked her up, found her, and sent her a nice introductory email with a basic outline for what has become Comics-On Tees. Jill wrote me almost immediately back filled with excitement over the idea. After a few meetings and sharing ideas she brought in this all-star and diverse bunch of comic artists: Jill herself, Tony Moore, Cliff Chiang, and Art Baltazar.

This is why I love working for and being a part of Threadless. It's how passionate and excited people become when they hear what you're doing and want to be involved. Threadless attracts passionate people. The support of the Threadless crew has been amazing!

It's been a year in the making and I couldn't be happier with the outcome and hope this is just the first of many Comics-On Tees.

I'm just a dude. Who loves comics and tees. I want to share that with you!
