d3d - just draw a solitary line and call it something like "The transcendence of man from fiction to non fiction".

All art is redundant and undefinable especially analysis of art. Taking one course in new media has cemented that belief.

Naw ya'll. No art is redundant because it's all specific to subjective experience, and everything you want to be art is art.

And people with the most money have a greater influence to remind the public what art is. For example I went to LACMA recently. Over there I saw nothing spectacular in Pollock's work and Jeff Koons sometimes makes things that are just bad art or something I could do like wedging an inflatable through a ladder.

you have to think of Pollock and Koons work in the context of the time they were made...

neither are at the level of Rothko or Guston, but they are relevant to the time they were made...

some of the best art is that which is precisely of it's time, not timeless...
