The Great Blog Disaster of 2006

Hey guys...

So you may or may not have noticed that the Blogs got majorly goofed up. We have been working tirelessly on the new version of Threadless, and today was the big day to move files we have been working on from the staging servers to the live servers. That's when the 'robots attacked'. To make a long story short, all blogs posted after December 2005 are now in heaven. :(

We know that you guys have a lot of important stuff in the blogs that were lost, and we sincerely apologize for the mishap. The good news is that we only lost the actual blogs, not the blog comments. We're working with our hosting facility to comb through logs and backups to try to restore everything back to how it was.

The truth is we're not sure if it can be restored. However, on the bright side we're just a few short weeks away from the brand new version of Threadless. We promise that the new version, with all of its amazing new features, will make this incident worth it.

You guys can't imagine how bad we feel about this, so please accept our most sincere apologies. If you have any questions, please post them in here and we'll try our best to address each one of them.

What's fucking awesome about this is that it deleted the blog that i what somes sort of HTML fuck up in..that no body could comment in and that i couldn't modify or delete.

hopefully the new blogs will be less prone to getting fucked up by HTML errors resulting in uneditable / undeleteable blog entries...

anyone who visits the blog regularly and uses firefox can get a bunch of URLs by simply going to someone's profile and typing a / at the end of the URL... Firefox gives you a bunch of recently visited blog URLs as suggestions

Yeah, I'm efficient like that, too.

And yes, the comments are still there, so with the cache info the blogs could be recreated. Unfortunately there's no real easy way to do it automatically. Since they've lost the blog entries on the profile, there's probably really nothing indicating what belongs to whom. But if you submit URLs and they (I hope not manually, but possibly manually) recreate the title and relink them to the profiles, then you'll be able to retrieve your entry from the cache yourself and re add the text.

It'll all be before you know it.

Thanks for the info. I sent them links, like yesterday late-ish so I'm sure they are super busy. I just got a photo approved I sent in before the robots. I'm sure this has created a ton of extra work for them.

when it was happened. I have been sent 3 house preview . the prev and supporting comments were lost in space.
