Dot your halftones and cross your hatches

Use this checklist to make sure your design stands out from the 1,000 or so others that go up for scoring each week. These finishing touches can make the difference between getting printed and getting lost in the Internet tubes forever.

Work towards a clear concept and good execution.

The best designs are easy to understand and the artwork should be the best you can create. Don't forget, a polished presentation goes a long way towards getting a good score!

Make your design unique.

Has your idea been designed before? If so, try to find a way to improve on the concept or artwork and make your design truly unique. 

Listen to critiques and feedback.

Your fellow artists and community members are here to help, so be open to advice and critiques! Your artwork will be more awesome because of it.

How do I submit my design?
Just go to threadless.com/make/challenges/submit to submit your design!
What are templates and how do I use them?
Templates are photos and drawings of tees and other cool canvases you can use to mock up your design. They are easy to use in Photshop and Illustrator; just drag and drop your artwork onto one of the templates and resize to fit!
How many colors can I use in my design?
If you are using solid colors you are limited to 8. If you are using gradients or are submitting a photo or painting as a design, there is no color limit!
What kind of files should I submit?
Your original artwork should be a high resolution image, but you should submit a 72dpi copy of your design placed on a template and saved as a JPG or GIF.
