Made with real sugar, just like the old days, this year’s Mountain Dew Throwback is rocking a brand new bottle design featuring the drink’s original animated mascot, Willy the Hillbilly. Dropping everywhere the last week of December, Throwback will only be around for eight weeks. Maybe you were a SoCal kid who spent their nights pool-hopping with your skate buddies, riding shotgun in a pal’s Woody, and shouldering a boom-box. (Or maybe you’ve seen a movie or two about those times!) In the spirit of celebrating the drink's retro roots, Mountain Dew is bringing back Mountain Dew Throwback for a limited time only. We smell a challenge…

Your challenge is to design an awesome tee that captures that old-school, country cool spirit!

Your design could be your invitation to join the roster of designers responsible for creating the Mountain Dew Throwback gear lineup (think custom skate decks and artist-series screen prints!) Plus, Mountain Dew is awarding you with the ultimate cache of limited-edition Throwback gear and enough liquid goodness to keep you fueled for an entire year!

The purpose of the submissions relating to this promotion is to create a stand-alone design inspired by the challenge, not a brand tee. Your design should not have brand names or logos on it.


Loves Who Are The Judges
The selected design(s) will be chosen by a panel of Judges including Threadless staff and a representative from the promotion sponsor(s).


 Loves Promotion Guidelines
  • The design(s) to be printed will be chosen by the Judges within 45 days after the submission close date.
  • Use the submission form by selecting Participate -> Submit Ideas from the menu or click the button below to submit.
  • All submissions will also be eligible to be printed as a regular Threadless tee.
  • The submission must not be a design that has already been submitted to Threadless.
  • You may only submit up to three designs during the duration of the promotion.
