Matthew Dear crafts beautifully textured electronic pop, which can be heard on his new album, Asa Breed. With his new arsenal of songs, Matthew creates a completely fresh musical experience that has received an overwhelming amount of feedback from both fans and press worldwide.
Asa Breed, out on his home label Ghostly International, is the most accomplished project to date from this prolific artist. It follows his pop-infused debut, Leave Luck to Heaven, which caught mainstream attention, garnering 4 stars in Rolling Stone, and helped him land remix duties for the Postal Service, Chemical Brothers and Hot Chip. He has also reached techno superstardom with his globe-spanning DJ sets and the classic club rocking single "Mouth to Mouth" under his dance floor alias Audion. In support of his new album, Dear will be touring North America this October with a proper band he calls Matthew Dear's Big Hands. This tour alongside electro-indie trio Mobius Band, finds Matthew fleshing out his leftfield pop with drums, bass, guitar and whatever he can get his (Big) hands on. This October also sees the release of Matthew's new single "Don And Sherri" featuring remixes by M.A.N.D.Y. (Get Physical), Hot Chip (DFA/Astralwerks) and DJ Koze (Kompakt).
