Hello there, and how are you doing today?

I'm doing great, thank you.

How did you get your start in design?

My mom bought me comics when I was a kid, and since then, I've wanted to be a comic book artist. So I attended a local college to practice illustration. I got a job at the college's Graphic's Department where I changed my mind and decided to major in graphic design. I then got a job doing web design, and I am now a web designer. And it was only recently that t-shirts looked like an interesting medium, where I can express my illustration and design without clients setting any limitations. And when I say recently, I mean 2 weeks ago from this writing (8/15/07). And bam! I win a contest. So I guess t-shirt design would be a worthy hobby. I even set up a website to sell some t-shirts geared towards the design theme, as well as some general humor ones at www.jasonlaroseteesign.com

What inspires your work?

Music, its always on in the background, my beautiful wife, who I always bounce off ideas, and just closing my eyes and letting my subconscious mind "show me".

How does it feel to have a design selected by Threadless?

I wanna go to Disney World. It feels great to know that people like me. Or at least my designs. I literally jumped out of my seat when I found out. A co-worker asked if I was alright.

What do you plan to spend your hard-earned cash on?

Maybe not Disney World... I have a cruise to pay for. And fun to have. And comics to buy. And food to eat. And a savings account that can use some money. And $500 worth in t-shirts from Threadless... I'm not a complete fool.
