Interview by Charlie Festa
Hello there, and how are you doing today?
Not bad. I spent the entire day with my head stuck in a banister. It took six firefighters and an entire bottle of Mrs. Butterworth's to get me free. On the bright side, I think I made the 6 o'clock news! I've never been on TV before, so that should be cool.
Cat got your tongue
How did you get your start in design?
As a kid, a small, radioactive spider bit me. The doctor was convinced I was going to turn into a real live Spider-Man, but he was wrong. Instead, I spent six months paralyzed in a hospital bed watching classic Warner Brothers cartoons. When my motor skills finally kicked back in, I started drawing in a little sketchbook. Before I knew it, I had an arsenal of my own zany characters!

What inspires your work?
Funny you should ask. If I strike myself in the head with a ball-peen hammer, I come up with the most amazing ideas! By the time the bleeding stops, and the swelling goes down, I'm usually well into Adobe Illustrator, putting the finishing touches on my design. There's a pretty big dent in the left side of my skull from the time I came up with "Adorable Disaster."
Don't play with matches
How does it feel to win on Threadless?
Winning on Threadless feels like winning the Super Bowl… ON THE MOON! It really is a big thrill, and it's gotten better for me with every print (mainly because they keep raising the prize money.)
Mister Crocodile
What do you plan to spend your hard-earned cash on?
One of those Hoverboard deals from "Back to the Future 2."
