How does it feel to have a design selected by Threadless?

It was good at first, but now it’s hard to walk down the street without being taken down by the rampaging herds of wild paparazzi. Unfortunately due to the incessant pressures of fame I’ve succumbed to a vast array of hard drugs, cheap women and fast cars. My publicist said it might be a good career move if I stage to a sudden and dramatic death, preferably caused by an overdose, but I’m not sure how I could ever top that, which kind of leaves me with no where to go...



In hindsight it was a massive relief. It has taken a lot of effort to win this competition, but I have been determined to do it the hard way by negotiating the politics of the community in an ethical manner, and hopefully with a design that both the consumer and the artist can appreciate. I feel a lot more relaxed participating within the community now that I have won, it brings a kind of validation that one shouldn’t need but does. It’s good to have the monkey magic off my back, and if I’m ever lucky enough to win again I think I will feel the tremendous elation that other winners so often describe.



What do you plan to spend your hard-earned cash on?

Hmmmm… maybe a never land ranch type set up, with an ocean theme, minus the undersized children. A house with aquarium walls would totally rock; maybe I could even have an underwater lawn bowls contest.

Also glasses so I can actually see, a new rotring isograph pen set, and paying back my beautiful girl, to whom I owe a great deal of my success and improvement as an artist.



Other than that $ buys me the most precious thing of all – time, the most essential ingredient in taking each next step as a creative soul.
