Great painting, you've got some good emotion in there. I agree with the last comment in that it may just need a splash of something in the background to complete it.

Awesome design/art, but it looks too copy pasted, just some of the stuff around her hair doesn't look like it's meant to be on the shirt. I think like others have said that if you add some elements you could clean it up a lot and blend your art in easily.

Oh yeah I like this second version! You made a ton of difference with the changes between the two versions. I think I'd increase the size of the design itself, and take up more of that white space, but I think your art is looking great.
