I'm trying to add text but having trouble uploading it to my photoshop. I was also wondering hat else I should do to make the wrapper bits look less vein-y
|
|
amaestod on Feb 11 '12
I think the wrappers looking vein-y is okay because eyes themselves are vein-y. But if it isn't what you are going for, it might be best to just remove the lines altogether.

What if you made the candy sphere-shaped instead of disk-shaped? More like eyeballs? :)
|
|
zacmun on Feb 12 '12
I like the style, but maybe you should just have a jar with a label saying "Eye Candy" and have a lot of them stuffed inside.
|
|
ashendrix13 on Feb 13 '12
I think that you could make these look more like candy. Maybe play with various shapes: a ball, a sphere, etc.

|
txz6 on Feb 13 '12
Loved the idea.
I agree, a sphere would look great. Maybe have just one candy but with a lot of detail on the wrapping and the eye. If you have time please check out my design, i would like to hear your opinion: Bread Jump |

PitGirl on Feb 13 '12
I really like this idea and I think the vein-like effect adds to it as a whole--this shirt has a lot of potential. I'd add a black outline to your candy wrapper edges to give them more definition, though.

|
browniebatter436 on Feb 13 '12
Add a lot more detail in the wrapper. Smaller and more realistic gray parts would help out I think.
|
|
aldaniels13 on Feb 13 '12
i agree with the jar, but i feel like tilting the flat "eye candy" might add more to the appearance of an actual eye

I like the vein-y aspect and think adding the text will help a lot!

|
izzyrb on Feb 14 '12
Okay, I'm thinking of putting them in a jar or a candy dish of some sort...thoughts?

Hey, thank you for your nice comments on my design, It is now up for scoring. Please if you have time, help me with your score at: Bread Jump Score

Candy dish would work. They definitely need to be round, not discs. Also, what it one was broken?

I love the concept, the play on words. It looks like you already got some good advice above. Looking forward to your next version. Good stuff!
If you have time, would you help me out by scoring my submission in the running? Thanks so much! |

This is a wip of the eye candy shirt. I decided to put it in a candy jar so it gives the effect and it will be completely filled with "eye candy"

ADMG on Mar 04 '12
I can't really tell what this is supposed to be.
|
|
sneaky fox on Mar 04 '12
Yeah, it doesn't really look like a jar at all.
Hmm.. I think you were more on track with the original idea, it just needed to be better executed. I could even see having a jar of eyeball candy with a few wrapped up eyes out in front. I think the problem with your original design is that the eyes aren't round. They should be orbs. Like real hard candy, only eyes. If you have a minute, check out mine. |
|
izzyrb on Mar 04 '12
I know this design has been so spastic but I decided to go back to the original but change the wrappers and applied filters to make them actulayy look plastic. I also discovered that the eyes look more spherical if tilted? I reallllllly need help here and now because this is for a digital imaging class and we're uploading on Tuesday!!!!

this is pretty cool...i like the style a lot. I think I would either put more of them on the shirt (like covering the whole front almost) or make them bigger. With them smaller and only 3, it doesnt give off as much of an impact. I like these wrappers a lot :D

|
izzyrb on Mar 05 '12
Okay thank you!! I'm working on placing come at the bottom and I think I will plave a fourth candy at the top? We'll see :)

better than previous versions, nice

PricklyHeart on Mar 05 '12
This version is the best one, but maybe make the wrapper bolder/larger to really stand out. Maybe try a brighter colour shirt to make it pop? nice style

Ilya Yavnoshan on Mar 05 '12
The improvements are fantastic. I suggest either having more of them or making them bigger. Probably a bit bigger is best.

I think this is clever! I really like the new candy and wrapper style. I agree that it could still use something else though. I liked your jar concept too, I just didn't understand your execution. Maybe you could try incorporating a jar, and have it overflowing with the new style candy? That way some candies could be next to there jar and maybe some empty wrappers too... Then you could cover more surface space on the shirt and have more opportunities for interesting composition. Just some ideas... I like the way you're heading! Thanks again for giving feedback on my design too! I can't wait to see another update!

I like the third version, I think you should make more of them, maybe you can put the "candy eyes" in a bowl or something. And make them different colors so it would look that they have different flavors.

Yeah, this version looks MUCH better. I also agree with everyone else in that while the eyes look good, their placement and imagery on the shirt is boring. I could see more eyes, or possible have some perspective thrown in there? Have some of the eyes overlap, like they were all on the same plain? Bigger ones in the front, smaller in the back? That or you could go in a different direction. Juxtupose eye candy with real candy to give it a creepy design. Good luck!

|
izzyrb on Mar 05 '12
So I took ya'lls advice and I made the shirt a different color and I also overlapped and brightened up the colors of the candies. the empty packet at the bottom will have some candy in it amd I am in the process of making some regular candy to add to the image.

|
MalPal on Mar 05 '12
I like the brighter shirt for sure, but personally I liked when the candy wrappers looked clear and the inside was the same color as the shirt. Lookin good though :)

j2morrow on Mar 05 '12
I agree with MalPal's comments above. I also think drop shadows might help. You might also think about having one of the candies rolling out of its wrapper to break the repetition and add another element of humor.
|
|
Roxanne.Davis on Mar 05 '12
I third MalPal's opinion. I like the translucent wrappers.

sneaky fox on Mar 05 '12
I fourth the opinion.

this version is fine, but i think need a bit of touch up on the composition of those candy on below side

Last time! I realised that with the blue shirt the wrappers opacity could not be brought down with out really being able to see the wrappers so it works better with a darker color shirt! I also made some changes with the eyes...now I'm going to push this shirt into the running!
