I dont think he is violating any copy rights law as long as he dont make changes to the logo... though i am not sure! i think you should confirm it before submitting.
About the design.. Its pretty cool... i wud like to see how it appears on a tee..

I think it won't be a problem... i'm not sure tho, but you have to try... or you can write an email to threadless if it's ok to use "s" in your design. I hope it won't be a problem cause i want to see how it ends up ;) Good luck.
