The idea is that a cartoon person has just put a hole in you from behind. Any suggestions? I need to spruce up the presentation a little and ideas would be helpful.

hmm, I think it might look better if the hand had a rist, as now looks like the hand is on the end of a pole. and if the person is standing right behind the shirt wearer, the angle of the arm would show they are almost standing to side of him. so you need to work on foreshortening. also why is a hand creating a hole in his chest, seems like a fist would be more accurated.

I agree that this version is better than your first version. However, I think that it could be better if you made it a little more obvious that it's the heart that is attacking. Like GRX-P said, it looks a bit like it's a hand creating a hole in the chest. I do think that it is a really cool idea though. ^^

It's not supposed to be the heart that's attacking. The idea is that a cartoon ninja is standing behind the wearer of the shirt and knocking their heart out.

As to the fist, I feel that's pretty standard and expected. Using the heel of your hand is supposed to show how strong the ninja is.

Do you think it would be cooler if it was straight on so we can see the ninja through the hole?

if its ninja style attack i think the fingers are closer together. as now its like the hand could be waving hello.

yes, maybe adding more of the ninja could help the idea along. but still the angle of the arm is not right.

If it's a ninja, then the palm should be forward and the fingers should be bent. Maybe you could add a tattoo of a symbol or something to the wrist.

yeah! Those are great ideas. Yeah, the arm is coming off from the side and I hate it more every time I look at it.

Also, Jacklyn, I was checking it out and you're totally right. The ninja's power move protects his fingers by curling them in.

So I drew the hand more straight on and connected it to the wrist. I took out the ray burst behind it because it was crowding. You think I should make the hole bigger?

Looks neater than before...Yes I think you should make the hole little bigger...According to me, if the cartoon person is trying to come out from behind you, his fingers should be more spread out to show the force...

Hey. what if you made the hole darker, like the hand is coming out of the hollow of the chest. And then move the design to the left side of the chest where the heart is :) Just a few thoughts ...

Added some more shadow and expanded the hole. Any ideas on presentation? It's so plain.

Yeah. That's a stronger design. You could ad some bloody drips down the shirt too. That'd be pretty gross :)

As for presentation, I have a hard time with that myself to I don't have very many suggestions. I've seen people make their image lighter (more transparent?) and smaller and then repeat it so it makes a patterned background. That's a lot of work though. Sorry I"m not much help with that....

presentation is fine. the design itself could use more detail though and you should fix the top of the thumb. looks to thik, since you're looking at it from the side.

I agree with putting some bloody drips on the shirt, would definitely add more appeal! Have you thought of putting a bit more detail into the hand? like shadows and more intricate lines

I do not know, I would imagine as if the heart was doing some sort of martial arts or an aerial kick or something like that!
It's kind of creepy to look a hand coming out of the person's chest. It reminded me of the Alien's movie. :S

added more lines which I think is awesome for grittiness. I am working on blood splatters for across the shirt.

Be good to see it with a few more splats, if I was you I reduce the opacity of the blood a little bit so that it looks like thinner liquid and less like acrylic paint. Im not sure if that would work but its worth a try, I dont think it will matter too much if it doesnt though. Very nice!

Definitely a big improvement! Kudos to you and the work you've put into it. I feel like the shading of the blood on the hand could be upped a bit more don't ya think? =)

the new bloodstain is interesting, it looks almost like the shirt was actually stained by the cartoon blood.

I would suggest you remove the lines on the bottom of the palm and top of the thumb. That area of line work doesn't really tie into the rest of the design. Good luck on you sub.
