I finally managed to get a couple of hours to create a new submission for Threadless & I have a question for you peoples about the way it's executed.

I've stuck, at this stage with doing it up pretty much directly from the scan of the pencil sketch, using halftones but I'm wondering if you guys think it should be vectored up so it's cleaner?

I dig the sketchiness in the riot cop but I think the clown kinda loses some of that Steamboat Willy, retro cartoon feel I was going for.

I like that they are in a greyscale. Where would you put it on the shirt?

When I saw it I thought "Awesome!"

After reading what you had to say and then taking another look I can see what you mean. The clown needs a certain polished look. If you did Vector it I would just do the clown. I agree, the riot is awesome as is.

I don't know how you would mask out the clown in order to do vector him, but it would be cool to see the contrast between the two characters. Maybe you could vector the stars too.

Anyway, it still kicks ass. Keep it up Hogboy.

I think there should be a contrast between the two figures, make the clown more 'steamboat willy' like you said, but make the riot control seem more photorealistic. It's a sort of jaunting image so having the jarring difference in style would compliment it, I think. Just my opinion.

great!

maybe if you just cleanup the clown a bit... make his shoes and suit less messy will do i think.

don't vectorize!

(the right foot of the police-guy looks a bit strange)
