Just the thought of holding a sloth like that... And it's stupid, too, it's not like I've ever been attacked by a rabid sloth or even looked at menacingly by one for that matter, LOL.

yeah i think they are fairly gentle.

but then i am terrified of any snake. No matter how big or small, poisonus or not.

I can't imagine a sloth ever hurting anyone, actually, LOL. :)



There's just something about them that makes me shudder. I think maybe I'm in league with the people afraid of butterflies and puppets. Although, honestly, I wouldn't say I'm afraid of sloths, really, just that they creep me out.

I've always had a hyper fear of snakes. Though I like them a tiny bit more than I used to. I can stand near them at zoos and pet stores if they are in a cage. Alot of our friends have them too.

Why is the white box so different from the rest of the design? It sticks out quite a lot. Is it a window looking out at the rest of the tree?

also the wall ends too boxy. to me, the texture of the sloths seems to similar to the texture of the tree.

The white window is a little distracting. The "slow-dancing sloth" idea is funny, and worth submitting. I feel like this design has potential, but I'm unsure on where to go with it, aside from what you've done here. Maybe just because the picture is small, but the dancing woman and sloth seem really small, and should be the focus of the shirt. I think the composition needs work, to put the focus more on the dancing

the box is a window. I need to work on it or take it out.

I will work on making the girl more of a focal point. I know this still needs a lot of work. Thanks for the ocomments so far.

the treehouse needs more clearly defined borders; right now it just sorta looks arbitrarily placed

hmm.....did you dream about this?...it´s very different now from your former versions,same characters but the whole thing seems to have an complete different context now,a different story ....honestly it didn´t really attract me like an eyecatcher but it...as longer as i look at it....kinda....hypnotizes me ..in a strange way...it got some sort of surrealism,not from it´s style but....you know what i´m not tellin you if i like it or not...cause i´m interested in what you would do in the v6 or v7....

no I didn't dream about it. What do you think would help the design? Brighter colors? Les rectangular? larger characters? it is different than v1 and v2 I agree. Thats because I added a background. I don't see how its telling a different story. They are still dancing. Just in a tree now. Sloth hang out in trees. So i figured oh yeah a tree would be cool.

yes more contrast in the colors. the two clouds at the bottom are also very similar in size and so kind of compete with each other.



maybe there could be some music notes? if you don't find that too cliche.

so you are in a hurry with your design...pitiful ´cause i really liked to see what you would have done next without any suggestions...the rectangular aspect does not seem to be that important in my eyes,in this case here,how you´ve put everything together,i´d say it´s just a question of taste if someone likes it or not....from the draughtsmen perspective i´d rather overgo the upper clouds again,the outline at the bottom makes it too "convex"(hope this is english too and makes sense),got touched too much 3dimensional compared to the rest of your artwork...i think the colours as it is displayed on the tee on your photo,already work out,although

i could imagine a warmer tone suited to the winered coloured shirt.that the tree house is so rectangular might be alright cause it all seems so naive in my eyes,which is not meant badly,i think it fits cause it reminds a bit of dreams you dream when you are very little....but i would suggest something else anyway: how about leavin the tree house,the girl and her"puppy"(don´t know what a sloth shall be)are dancin on the vinyl of an oversized grammophone....i don´t know,it´s just because this whole thing turned out so dreamish.....but i think they´d look good on that....i´m havin´a look over your artwork again maybe tomorrow or the day after,right now it´s pretty late and i have to do an lil´hour drive.....

not in a hurry I just want to know how to improve the design. I will work on the clouds some more. the t shirt mosel will also be different. I suppose it is dream like. I gravitate towards that kind of thing. I don't think i will place the girl and sloth on top of the grammaphone. Get some rest. I am trying to stay away from musical notes but I think something should come out of that victrolla. Just don't know what yet. I had tried flowers but they did not seem right.

its funny though how people look at the same picture and finally see something complete different........(.aw..still here....lookin at your artwork....)think i shouldn´t give you any suggestion of what you should draw and what not because of that.....only thing i´d suggest right now is changin the clouds.....instead of using dark outline,cut it out,make the tee colour come out of that...and maybe you can make them more fluffy as you did with the clouds under the house....(the upper left one looks a bit strange think i don´t have to mention it more detailled cause you are obviously capable....)

wow you just keep popping out the designs...this looks great other than two things, and one's a minor point.



the rectangularity is a bit off-putting. it works in the sense it makes it look like they're on stage, and that's good, but it doesn't flow so well with the clouds. the minor point : that sloth's leg is awkwardly straight...



other than that looks finished to me, i wouldn't overwork it.

For what it's worth, I liked version 4 much better. I would buy that one ( I really would). Having the clouds on both the top and the bottom ruin it for me.

Banana - I use illustrator for the design then bring it into photoshop to place it on a t template then save it in image ready as a gif

oh and i was going to try makng the tree bigger and then hang stage props from the limbs. Maybe I will just try a victorian room though instead

I wouldn't worry about overworking it. You definitely have a wonderful sense of how to keep improving your designs even after everyone keeps saying submit.



I'm not incredibly fond of this design as is. But I'm 100% sure I'll love it when you're done.

Well I feel weird telling you what I want to see, because I know you have a better eye for your own designs than I do.



But several of the clouds are copied and pasted, so I think it would be best to redraw each on it's own. And I'd like to see it off of the gray, on a warmer color, and maybe with the clouds just colored in a lighter shade of that background color.

kalien: you use a tablet?

yes I use a tablet. Forgot to say that. I use the mouse a lot too though. So for these designs i don't need my tablet but its nice to have it.

Avtee- ha funny i know I need to rework the clouds. I just copied and pasted them to see what clouds would look like in those places. I was going to experiment with different back ground colors too. So we think along the same lines i guess. Thanks for comenting.

That could be cool, but I say definitely keep the old timey record player. It's one of my favorite parts of the design.



I'm thinking the sloth looks a little stiff against her, but then sloths are kind of like that, aren't they? They don't move much, so I guess maybe that's normal for them. I really wouldn't know, every time I've seen a sloth it's been completely immobile, hugging a tree branch, LOL.

I might try it wit branches above too like you said. I actualy startedone with more bracches breaking out of the curtain at the top.

I think the floor is a little distracting. I see what you're trying to evoke with it, but it draws the eye down too much, and away from the dancing figures. Also, the table stand fades into it, when instead it should be central to the design. (Did I mention yet how much I love the gramophone? :)

I loved the room. The idea of the stars and planets and rocket ship swirling around inside is great and i think they get lost with the trees.

so i thought subbing a new one automatialy bumped it up

i kind of miss the stage-like structure she was dancing on earlier, it had this vaudevillian treehouse feel to it. but it's gone now. oh well.



ok, i think the stars are fine but the rocket, ufo, & planets belong in some other design. when you added them to an earlier version where she was in a room, that was interesting. maybe that's an idea for a new design, stars and rockets inside a room that is.



i'm not sure the chandeliers work due to small and intricate factors, but not sure...if you took them away something would need to be there i think, but they somehow distract.



otherwise, as usual, looks great. you should illustrate a children's book, you have such your own style.

oh uum I just realised that one of the tree shadows is going in the wrong direstion.

maybe it would work if you had the tree on the left to go left like the other and keep the fact that it stops on the grass

either way, i would take the shaceships out. i might even put negative space there, or something that blends in more - you want the viewer's eye to be drawn to the girl and the sloth, not what's around her. right now i find myself focusing on the all the stars more than the girl.

I agree with "banana squiddly" about the focus issue. You might even need to loose the third chandelier on the right, to enhance the dancing space between the trees.

On the other hand it's really nice to see all the spacy stuff coming out the musicplayer. Have you experimented with only one tree in the scene (leftside) and the sound/stars/planets on the right? So that the girl with the sloth is still enclosed.

i think the shadows take up too much of the space, i would get rid of them all together. I think version 21 is the best, the older chandeliers looks best

The shadows aren't bad, i'm not sure which I like better, with or wothout.

But yes, get rid of the rockets.

chlob0107-I like feedback yes. It helps my work develop. Things I would not have noticed or thought of sometimes come up. Its good to have people to bounce ideas around with. I don't get that working from home. Ultimately I try to consider all comments and then make the best decisiions for the piece. Sometimes i get stuck and critiques help me get out of that. So yes I suppose I am addicted to crits.

What a dirigible is for those who are interested. But I still like the rockets.
