Hey there,rnrnjust had an idea and made a quick scribble. I can imagine these Röck Döts on a Tee very well - what do you think?

Are they supposed to be placed on top of a O as the dots?
Like, dots on the Ö rocks? Cause that would be cool!

I like this, you could have one of them rolling down a hill, as in rock in roll? Just a thought. Otherwise I like it! Keep at it. ;)

Haha, just an "Ö" wouldn't lead to success, I think :-).

This is cute, I think it works as it is if you're thinking about placing them just as they are on the tee.

maybe you should make the 'O' to show a bit from the bottom. and if you're gonna use the rocknroll idea, then why not rolling down from the 'O' ? :)
The dots should have some space between eachother in my opinion.

I like it as it is in the sketching style XD. Maybe watercolor effect might help :) The drum set and the mic kinda blends weirdly =/ can't tell. why is there another circle @_@ ?

I've inked the sketch and now it's coloring time! Adapted the idea adding an "O" under the Dots.

So what do you think?

I like the O under the dots, likely because I have no idea what these dots would have been otherwise. Actually, I still don't. In America our Os only come in two varieties. Big and small. And that's the way we like it!
I like the halftone dot shading. Nice touch.

Haha. it looks a bit like Freddie Mercury with that mustasch.
Like it that they are placed on an O, makes more sense.

I really like your style. I'm a bit confused as to what is on the right, have you decided to only do one of the character's?

Very Nice! I really like the characters a lot and your sketching looks really great. I'm not so sure if I like the stage that they're on though, maybe it's just me but it sort of cuts off awkwardly. Maybe making a mini stage like one for string puppets or something would be worth it and that way you can really play with the lighting a lot more since you'd have a more apparent source? Looks like it's coming really well though!

@phat moton: The stage is just a rough sketch. I'm gonna work on this. A puppet stage wouldn't fit so well since it's supposed to have an "O"-shape.

@Stirpel Gonzales: thanks for the link, I've learned something new.

Anyway, if you want to be anal about it, you could work on the hands a bit more, get them less floppy and more life-like. Or as life-like as a dot's hands may be.

I like how you showed your process from idea to sketch to finished design. It would be great to see placement. As for the design itself I feel the stage should be more in perspective. and perhaps curving it away rather than towards.... just an idea.

Without description, I would not have been able to tell that they are on an "O", just looks like an arch right now. I second the motion that you put a whole "O" on the shirt.

I like the style. I think the stage needs some perspective work. I also really like the logo on the drum but it's kind of obscured by the second microphone. maybe move the mic over more towards the center.

@agge: I've been thinking bout showing the whole O, too. But I'm afraid that it could sidetrack the focus away from the dots...perhaps I'll just give it a try.

I second (third?) the idea of showing the whole "O" to give the dots more context. I dig the idea so far, though!

I like the placement and the colors.

Showing at least half the O or the whole O will give more context to the röck döts too.

I've tried to place a full "O" on the shirt, here is my result. What do you say? Does it help to understand the Röck Döts-idea?

I definitely Think it helps to understand the idea of the ö... But it's sadly not that flattering on the shirt. It looks a bit like he has a hole in his stomach. But maybe it will help if you tone it down more ore made it smaller.

I really like the characters!
Since I didn´t know about rock dots so far, I learned it now!
I think because of the structure the "O" is taking too much attention as it is. If you are going to use structure, you shouldn´t let it flow through the perspective of the letter - It looks flat this way, you know what I mean?
I could imagine the "O" as the one in R-O-C-K.
Maybe you could make the design slightly smaller to have enough space for "R", "C" and "K" floating somewhere in the depth of the universe..?
Oh, and I think the dots don´t need to sit on the "O", they should float above IMO.

I'm going to experiment on the O, but I don't think there's enough space for the word ROCK. It was struggling enough to place the O and not make it too flashy. The dots should still be the main part of the shirt.

Made a few changes this evening. I've tried many variations now, but I like this one best.
I've put the mic on the drumset more into the middle, hope it doesn't look odd any more. Changed the lighning on the dots a bit. Changed the lightning of the O a bit and placed the whole letter on the shirt.

I think its ready now..whatcha think?
