Just the start of an idea. Waht would make this better?

I thought it would lok nice in silver metalics on the sails and ropes, maybe on the outline of the wood planks too and the stars. Does threadless do metalics ink?

i like it on the dark shirt, it seems to stand out the best on a darker background. stunt double's idea about texture for the sails would be cool!

they both said what i was thinking - dark shirt and texture on the sails. i think it would need another element in order to do really well and have a chance at getting printed, something to make it special. its good tho.

I woke this morning and thought, I know it needs some sort of character/s gathering stars with nets . What do you guys think?

The bottom of the ship has a lot of detail, but it looks like it comes apart as it goes upwards. The crows nests look kind of like blobby shapes.



The sails need some sort of texture or pattern to them. Maybe making them look billowed out, or make them look like they're made from patch-work quilts?

yes I thought patchwork quilts would be nice too. Crows nests are very rough. I will probaly delete them. Not sure what you mean by comming apart. Uless you mean not enough detail. Wich I will be working on. Thanks for your advice. It is very apprecated and helpfull

Its a cool design, but not very interesting to look at. Vibrant color patchwork quilts would definitely bring some magic into the piece.

Yes, I meant the design becomes less solid as it goes higher, there is less detail in it and it looks like less time was put into it than the body of the ship and the net.

I agree- I think the dark is best. The nets at the bottom don't really look much like nets, and I think you should put some other stars up around the sails, in the semblance of a background.

I think the sails are really the only thing that bothers me. I feel like they stick out too much from the boat, due to the solid color.

theres already a shirt with patchwork quilts for sails, so that might not sell well. i like the idea, and if you can get the metallic inks that would be cool. i agree, more detail in the sails, and more contrast in the boat, but i really like where you're going.

I liked your idea of characters leaning out over the side to pull in the nets. Maybe a girl in a nightie or boy in PJ's? Keen to see the net once it's finished too. Good so far.

It's getting better. But I liked how in the last version you couldn't see her face. Also give back her ponytail.

very nice, it's come a long way since your original...i agree that the sails need something, wouldn't take much, just a few lines, maybe a rip or two? or maybe not, maybe just a few highlights.

I agree the net could use more work, like some cross lines. maybe add more stars in the background too, possibly a moon if you think it would work (I'd like to see a crescent moon in this one)

more stars in the net for sure, and i'm not sure about having different colored stars, i like the white ones personally. also the stars in front of the sails should be taken out i think. and are you going to put the basket back in the boys hand? i really liked it.

I might put the basket back. The stars are different colors mostly because something else needs to have that blue color that the boats lines has. Ok more stars in the net.

i like version 4 alot better, to be honest. i like the colors better, the faces on the children, and less detail in the nets...the nets don't flow as well now. still a great design.

I think you should keep the stars different colours as is, but maybe make the shape of them less perfect and geometric to match the illustration stle of the boat? They kinda look like default illustrator ones.

I also think you should just submit it on the dark blue colour it is on, I don't think it suits on the orange or the blue as the dark blue adds to the mood.

i think it's ready and i know it's tempting to submit a design asap, but i'd wait for the rest of today to get more feedback just so you have a good number of opinions...something i wish i would have done with that lego design.
