something about the triangle and square being contained within the big frame bugs me, but i'm not sure why....maybe if onf them was on the outside?

Thats a good idea. Now that you mention it, that might be whats bugging me as well.

I've moved the shapes around and added a little bit of 3D-ness to them.

Thanks Brett. I think I prefer v3 as well. Still not too sure about the shadows on the background shapes though.

not diggin the shadows in the background...well maybe just the shape of them...like for the red one I don't think the shadow should be on three sides of it...same for the green...

as per every art teacher has drilled into my head "remember your light source!" lol

that and maybe the shadows should be a tad distressed like the rest of the picture...

like it better with just the solo guy in the first version.

I agree that, whichever version you choose, the shadows should look distressed. Everything else is, so when you hit the solid chunk of black that is the shadow, your eye hangs there. The face is fine solid though, since you probably want to draw attention there.

I like v1 too. I think the shadow should have the same texture as the rest of the image, looks great!

The distressed look is well done and the idea relevant, but I find the figure's outstretched tongue creepy. Excellent design, but why is the little guy so malicious looking? The effect is unnecessarily antagonistic.

Yup, i prefer v1. But I agree with what ppl are saying about the shadow - it's a bit too solid in comparrison to the rest of the design.
