I hope the idea comes across...the ultimate would be a page of the dictionary with a blank spot where 'irony' should be, but that might be too much (or too little).

lol nice

think it needs something though...

it'd be funny, but way too subtle, to just have the page where irony should be but have it missing.

yeah, there are a handful of ways to do this, i suppose i'll post them all over the next few days and see if any one comes out on top.

any and all comments are helpful in one way or another. my other thoughts at the moment are:

- include definitions above and below irony, and leave three blank lines where the definition of irony would be (word and pronunciation would still appear). optionally, fade lines of text into the shirt color the farther they are from the focus point

- black out the definition "government classified" style

- come up with a humorous, but non-legit definition for the word, something about it not meaning what you think it means

my plan was just to post different versions in this critique...do you think a blog would be better?

Hi Jack!! I think I like the idea of having words above and below the word "irony", then where the definition for "irony" goes, have an ink splotch/smear/fade/cutting-in-and-out of the image... anything that could go wrong in the printing process sort of thing. Even if the (scary) red smear (ok, maybe it's strawberry jam...) were on the above mentioned listing. Just think it would indicate "ironicity" (ooh, I like it) more if other words were defined with no glitches, as it were.

hmm, i like the idea of mimicking a printing error. perhaps the ink bleeding all over the place...the letters worn off of the shirt, something in that arena.
