Inspired by a trip to Alaska and the native artworks I encountered. Please tell me what you think, leave a comment...it'll make you a better person...really.

The colours d'ont work for me, but that's just me... I would see this on a natural or beige tee with earth-tone colours, but you seem to be going for something completely different with your colors. Cool design, I just personnaly don't like the colours.

I thought about doing that...I may play around and stick one up that uses more earth tones. Thanks!

Okay, I agree with the colours. No offense, but at the moment it looks like something you'd pick up at a museum gift shop (I dunno why, but they always go bright neon on black for that stuff, heheh). There are a couple of things that seem out of sync on the design. The pattern in the upper left medallion (with the huskies) is definitely feeling Celtic more than Native. Most Native art seems to refrain from repetitious patterns; the otters and whale are definitely feeling native. The walrus medallion also bothers me. The walruses look too cartoony. I would stick the the abstracted style you've used on the other animals. Good start though, hope that helps.

Yeah, thanks...I was afraid it might give that vibe. Also, that walrus isn't as cartoony as it looks, but when it shrank, wow, it's like it belonged in a WB cartoon...it's the pattern around the eyes...thanks, I appreciate the crit.

Yeah, if you're interested in making it Native, I would suggest sticking to palettes involving red/black/white/grey/possibly yellow. They're traditionally found in many Native paintings, and with the exception of grey, are colours found on the medicine wheel which have big symbolism in the Native community.

Well, I may deviate a bit...it's inspired by, but not truly "native." I do agree about muting the colors and my original design was on natural. I'll hopefully have a new one up tomorrow. Thanks a lot for your input it's been really helpful!
